Fantastic commanders, excellent troops. Four artifacts. Not easy because it is very spread out. You want to conduct diplomacy with everyone because everyone is your neighbor and you may have to fight many of the Dark Servants as well. Your holdings in the Iron Hills are fairly secure.

The descendants of the Seven Fathers, known among themselves as the "Khazâd", are scattered from one end of Middle-earth to the other. The largest settlement of the Dwarven nation is centered at Azanulinbar-dûm, and is led by Thorin Oakenshield, but there are enclaves in the Blue Mountains, the Grey Mountains, the Iron Hills, and the Eorstan hills near the Sea of Rhûn.

A stout and sturdy race, the Dwarves are blessed with some of the most formidable warriors, pound for pound, to be found in all of Middle-earth. The rise of the Dwarves as a power has been prevented primarily by the isolation of their forces, although further expansion has been hampered by the slow growth of their population. Most of the Dwarven population are trained foot soldiers. This martial tradition allows all new Dwarven Heavy Infantry recruits to start with Training rank of 30. Thus, the Khazâd are capable of presenting a large, well-provisioned, well-led army to their enemies. Because of the sturdy nature of the typical Dwarven stock, Dwarven armies may also Force March with no loss of Morale points.

In matters other than military, however, the Dwarves are less-skilled. Although their settlements are usually strong and well-fortified, Dwarves have limited resources, other than metals, with which to barter for badly needed products. The skilled Dwarven masons overcome some of these shortages by exercising their superb skill in stone-craft. Thus, the Dwarves may build and improve fortifications at 1/2 the normal timber cost.

The Dwarves face a variety of powerful enemies and the Rhûn Easterlings could become enemies as well. Although no Dwarven settlements are situated near Mordor, the powerful Witch-king, Dragon Lord, and Long Rider still provide considerable problems for the Dwarven nation. The Dwarves must carefully consider at which regions they will make a stand. Many Dwarven Lords argue that it is impossible to guard all their mountain holdings, but none wish to relinquish any of their gold and mithril mines, especially to their ages-old enemies who stole the mightiest of their former holdings - the Balrog of Moria & the Dragon Smaug!

For many years, a long-standing and close relationship has existed between the Dwarves and Ravens/Crows of Middle-earth. In fact, many individual Ravens/Crows and Dwarves can speak the other's tongue, and the Ravens/Crows are frequently called upon by the Dwarves to aid them as scouts. Therefore, any Dwarven characters (regardless of skills) can issue scouting/recon orders. The Ravens/Crows will perform the mission and are at least equal to a rank 50 Agent/Commander in their scouting/recon abilities.
