Luke is bringing a PE175N back to life!

Back in '78 I was tearing around outer western Sydney with a crowd of reprobates on an RM80, an RM125, a WR250 and sundry other bikes that we had access to. By '79, I had my nose pressed to the glass at the the motorcycle shop, contemplating how to pay the enormous sum of $1300 for a shiny new (road registered) Suzuki PE175N. Yes! Get a license! This was to be my all-encompassing solution to mobility, work and weekend tearabout. I wanted it. I wanted it badly.

Alas, it was not to be. A collection of wild teenagers tearing around the bush on RM's soon came to attention of the local constabulary! With no money (and no license) it was easy to opt for a 3 year suspension of license rather than pay any kind of fine. End of motorcycles for me and onto the trains!

27-odd years later I'm after some interesting little project to do. Over the years, a number of times bikes have come to be presented to me - each time I wavered, then rejected them as unneeded/unwanted. They just simply didn't interest me. In the back of my mind though, has always been that road-registered PE175N. Just sitting deep in there.. itching at me... niggling at me... So this time, whilst mulling over projects, this time it came firmly into the foreground - and stayed there!

So go find one - don't care about the state it's in - I have to have one! Located an utter disaster, but it was the right one; the right year, with the right bits. So OK - this will take time. Maybe a lot of time. I'll fix it. I wanted an interesting project - well, I got one. This the result.
