Was responsible for creating, maintaining and running software testing solutions for the Text Services component of 2007 Microsoft Office System and the next (currently unnamed) version of MS Office.

Developed, upgraded and supported FortyTwo's CMS and email marketing software.

Worked as a volunteer campanologist (church bell ringer) since 1996. Was captain of the Christ Church St Laurence bell ringers between 2003-2005.

Performed with Australian Brandenburg Orchestra in December 1999-2003.

Have been active in the Tournament of the Minds for eight years - five years as a team member, one year as an assistant team facilitator, and two years as a judge.

Experienced with using and maintaining Windows, Unix, Linux, Amiga and Macintosh (OS 9 and X) systems.

Highly skilled with software development using C++, C#, Microsoft Visual BASIC (6 and .Net), MS Access, JavaScript/DHTML, Java and Cocoa. Moderately skilled in the use of C, PHP, Python, Eiffel, and SQL/MySQL.

Some experience with both the Waterfall and Extreme Programming software development methods.

Well-developed team skills are displayed through:

  • Experience with Systems Design and Development, a university subject completed with a final mark of 98%, where a piece of software is developed by a team of ten students.
  • Experience with Extreme Programming, in which strong team skills are absolutely necessary, as all programming is performed in pairs, swapped frequently.
  • Extensive participation in the Tournament of the Minds, a strongly team-based competition.
  • Six years of participation in bellringing activities, where every piece of ringing is performed by a band of 6-12 ringers, requiring very strong teamwork and cooperation skills.

May 2003: Awarded a full scholarship to attend the Worldwide Developers' Conference in San Francisco, America.

April 2002: Awarded a full scholarship to attend the Worldwide Developers' Conference in San Jose, America.

September 2001: Attended and spoke at an Apple University Consortium conference in Townsville.

July 2001: Received a Seeding Grant from the Apple University Consortium. This involves a grant of an iMac, on the condition that it will be used for the purposes of software development on a nominated project.

June 2001: Received an Australian Students' Prize for Excellence.

February 2001: Received the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Higher School Certificate, for placing 1st in NSW in 3 Unit Computing.
