You may have heard the rumors that Cool Cats will soon be holding
lessons at The Mustang Bar on Monday nights. This has resulted
in a change of venues and lesson times for many of our courses, plus
we are offering a variety of special offers at The Mustang Bar to
encourage more dancers to come along. As of April 18th
for our new lesson timetable see

We will be employing an optional rotation format in the
Rockabilly (Mustang Bar) and 4Beat (North Perth )
courses to provide a flexible and enjoyable learning
environment for both partnered and unpartnered dancers
alike.
Special offers for the commencement of Cool Cats lessons
at the Mustang Bar are:
All Rockabilly students wishing to take advantage of our
double lesson offer will be welcome to attend the
Thursday night General Class at North Perth at the usual
discount rate. As a bonus during the first course at our
new venue, students may also stay for the 4Beat class FREE as part of the rotational group. That's
a total of 3hrs for $18 for Rockabilly enthusiasts! As
an ongoing offer, partnered dancers will be able to
participate in the Rockabilly and both North Perth
classes for the price of $24 casual or $120 for 6 weeks.
That's Rockabilly, 4Beat, and the General Class for some
variety, practice, and fun at $8 or less per lesson.
Cool Cats Offer: For past (6+ months) and existing
students (3+ months) who have yet to try Rockabilly,
their first course at the Mustang Bar is Half
Price! That's only $6 per lesson! (no bulk or
course discounts) I will also use this opportunity to
advise of our next short course, which also
commences April 18th: Basic
Aerials. This introductory course examines
the fundamentals of liftwork, providing students with
the necessary knowledge and skills to tackle more
advanced aerials safely and with confidence. It also
gives the more casual dancer a nice variety of simple
lifts/drops/props that they can use to add some flair

A big welcome to all the new
members and a big "Thank You" to all those more experienced dancers
for joining in the beginners class and making it easier for them to
learn, it was great to see so many of you encouraging and helping
those with difficulties. We've had a great response to all our
classes and great to see a few more joining us for West Coast
Swing. It's a beautiful dance that for some reason seems to
intimidate some people and yet if you take time and ground yourself
in basics can be so much fun and is often referred to as "The
Dancers Dance" so to all those looking for new challenges why not
give it a go. West Coast Swing classes are every Tuesday at Osborne
Park Bowling Club and Wednesdays at Cannington Bowling Club.
Beginners class is from 7.30pm- 8.30pm.

Hey Rock & Rollers, here is a little spin on the
recent Les Roc Cruise Fremantle , Albany, Bunbury, Fremantle aboard the
"Athena" 14th to 18th February.
Couldn't ask for more - the food and service was
good, cabins were clean and comfortable, entertainment was excellent and a
great time, with a good mix of fun and relaxation, was had by all aboard. As
well as dancing you could try your luck at bingo, join a group doing a quiz,
arts and crafts, relax on deck reading a book or simply enjoy a few drinks
in the company of old friends and new acquaintances.
The weather was fair to good, but some of our
sailors unfortunately were heave hove and up she rises. What a waste of good
tucker.
Les' workshops were very good. There was an
excellent mix of Line Dancing and Rock & Roll which was made interesting and
simple for newcomers to learn. At the end of each session everyone had
learnt two complete dances and then later that night had the opportunity to
put it into practice. It was a nice touch "well done Les".
The evenings were ours to party. Rock & Rollers took
over a couple of venues on the ship and yes we did share with the other
passengers and crew. Some I noticed were up later than their mothers would
have allowed, but it's okay, mum wasn't on board so it was all good.
On the Monday night we were joined on board by the
Albany dance group which was really great and it was good to see that there
were some who dressed up for the occasion. It was amusing to watch the
Albany ladies pounce on nibblies and cakes which were being handed out by
the crew. Us passengers were reserved and cool only because we'd already had
a day of being spoilt.
During the day I noticed there were those who had
nanna naps. Could it be or dare I say it was due to late nights, or should
it be said, early mornings.
On the two stopovers, Albany and Bunbury, some chose
to visit wineries, go on a bus tour or just go walking and shopping.
Whether you went as a single or couple, you couldn't
help but enjoy yourself. It was also a help knowing people on board. Thanks
Les.

groovy and easy steps to dance. Teachers:

No partner required. You will
be able to use those steps on the same night to swing
to the best
Swing DJ's in town.
The main goal of this night is having FUN and meeting
people in a night club atmosphere.
Everyone welcome, any school and any
style.
The show
focuses on 1950's up until the present day,
sounds of Rockabilly and Wild Rock'n'Roll with
the occasional flourish of R&B. Local and
Australian music is always featured - so tune
in with a cup of coffee and sit back, relax
and enjoy some rockin' sounds.
Mondays are always a great night at
the Mustang Bar. Marco and The Rhythm Kings are well
worth a listen. Many of our favourite local musos
fused in a new mix. Great Rockabilly, Blues and a
bit of Western Swing. Great night! Lots of room on
the dance floor.
