Another suit of armor

The Melbourne Museum is having a Body Art exhibition (runs until Feb 4, 2001) and as part of that, I have had several public body painting demonstrations. (You may already have seen Cathi in her Formula One driving suit.) Well, here she is equipped for a different sort of battle.

Yeah - I know the helmet is a bit of a tight fit. I made one up in papier mache, and then discovered it was way too small - so I made another and tested it and things were much better - but I needed to cut some earholes in it - and it seems I wasn't generous enough with the cutting - but we decided to use it without any last minute butchering. Hence the rather high-domed appearance.

Another shot - looking a little more pious this time.

Both feeling a bit rung out after 4 hours painting. (And no - I haven't been smacked in the head with a sword - just a bit of collateral paint splatter.)

The Hawthorne Camera Club were there in force at the demo - so there will probably be a number of progress shots available a little later. (See below)

Many thanks to Brian McCauliffe who sent me the image below.
