The jewellery you see isn't what it appears - it's "face painted" directly on to the skin. Some of the clothes you see, aren't what they appear either - being just paint.
My favored approach is "trompe l'oeil" - literally to 'fool the eye' - so that what you see, or think you see, is not really there.
