The Indian necklace
I've tried painting gold jewellery on to Caucasian skin - and
it is a bit of a fizzer - no contrast. So - when a young Indian lady
approached me about doing a painting, my eyes lit up. Yes - a
chance to paint gold on to the right color skin.
Angela was a delight to paint. She was not only a good model, but we
discuss physics at the same time. An excellent mix.
This turned into a nervous image - through my own fault.
We already had much of it done and I thought of a new way to
add the gold filigree - which I should have done first. It was then a
risk-all gamble - do we do it over the top and risk all that work -
of play safe. Well - we crossed our fingers and gambled - and it worked.
Always the way! You get a camera out and some freeloader elbows their
way into the picture?
Thanks to ..
Thanks to Angela - for being an excellent model - and for clearing up
some physics questions at the same time.
