The peacock dress

A dress based around peacock feathers? What a good idea? I mean - they're only feathers. Can't be that hard to paint? Why did that start to feel like deja vu?

Who to paint it on? Jasmine was so helpful with the cheongsam image, so who was the obvious choice? (Thanks, again, Jasmine!)

Props? (Give me credit for not being completely stupid .. I rejected the idea of real peacock feathers immediately. What painter in his right mind would want real ones around for comparison with his painted ones?)
Nope - no feathers. However a 'train' on the dress would be good. After all - it's just a couple of metres of material. Easy-peasy!

I bought a couple of metres of an appropriate material - and took a couple of test shots with it taped in position. An hey presto! We had what looked like two metres of straight material. Nothing like a train!

Quick email to a sewing-savvy friend (Thanks, Stef) and I had my instructions.

No the advice wasn't to take only knee-length shots!

The advice was to get someone else to do it. Good advice!

.. and it nearly worked...

So see the progess shots for how it all unravelled.

Meanwhile - here's a little detail od those pesky feathers..
