The current catfish tank started out to be a fry tank for guppies, but once the anubias and other plants started to grow crazy with CO2 in the Guppy tank, the decision was made for the conversion. For the first 3 months, it was still a fry tank with many plants. But after that, I was able to obtain some nice specimens of Albino Bristlenose from a member of the Australian Cichlid Forum.
The day I obtained these albinos, I was so excited that I totally forgot I had a tank of 1 month old guppy fry, after reading some articles on the internet, I found out that is was ok to keep fry with Bristlenoses...but once the Albinos was released into the tank...all the guppy fry swam quickly towards them and started to peck at them! I was shock and quickly scooped the fry out and placed them in a breeding net and bring them to work so a mate can take care of them for me. One the same day I obtained 5 2cm common BNs, and 35 3-4cm commons BNs. The 5cm Commons when into the Catfish tank along with the albinos. They seem fine together, which was a good sign. A few more different species of Bristlenose would be placed in the same tank in the futrue. But, once they start to grow up, they will be transferred to breeding tanks.
This tank has been transferred to the 50cm cube.
