News, September 2009:
The Faerieworlds festival in Oregon, USA, was an enchanting gathering of 15,000 souls, involving ritual fire dancing, oral storytelling, lighting displays, organic cooking, visual crafts, book signings and music, headlined by Faun and Woodland. I was honoured to sing with the latter – in my set and theirs, all on the main stage – joined by greenman Billy, dancer Ally and a flurry of marionettes. Hugs to the musicians who learned my songs so superbly:
Kelly Miller-Lopez (Woodland): vocals, flute, dancing & harp;
Scotty Perey (The Sugar Beets): guitar & keyboards;
Jarrod Kaplan (Woodland & Trillian Green): drum-set & hand-percussion;
Sylvain DuPlant (various bands!): electric bass & acoustic double bass;
Donald Brodsky (Woodland): didgeridoo.
Thank you Faerieworlders, particularly my hosts Robert Gould, Stephanie Lostimolo and Woodland, for inviting me, flying me over and lavishing me with luxury, love and lore.
Here are some photos we took. See my Facebook gallery for more soon, or the faeriworlds website.

News, May 2009:
A joyful storm of enchantment was the Trolls et Legendes festival in Belgium this April. I sang with Australian duo Dandelion Wine and French pianist/singer Nehl Aëlin & her band, who contributed to a magical show. It was great to meet so many kindred souls – collaborators, friends, exhibitors (especially Sabine-Adelaide from our label, and guests of honour Brian & Wendy Froud) - as attendees flocked by the thousands in costume, danced, or sang along. Especially moving to greet listeners who’ve supported our music for over a decade. We’re grateful to the drivers, cooks, technicians, sponsors and other volunteers, most of all host Frederic Cotton. Magical acts included Daemonia Nymphe and Woodland, with whom I’ve been invited to sing at another international festival, this time in Oregon! Faerieworlds happens 31 July – 1 August 2009.

Internationally
acclaimed illustrator Brian Froud chose Louisa’s song “Kunmanngur”
(collaboration with Frederic Chaplain & Brett Taylor) for the
collector’s edition DVD with his book “World
of Faerie”

Kunmanngur is a serpent from a tale by Kianoo Tjeemairee of the
Murinbata tribe.
Listening to Louisa’s music, his publisher at Imaginosis
wrote:
“My
experience…returned me to the inspired, sensual musicianship
and wise,
poetic lyrics that were so unique about Kate Bush's early work. But
here was something more singular:
clearly the expression of one artist's deeply heartfelt vision of the
world and denizens of faerie.”
