A Warning Notice

In consequence of the amount of destruction perpetrated upon the limestone caves of the colony, the Minister for Mines has issued notices warning vandalistic minded members of the public that any person injuring or removing rock, stalactite, stalagmiteor crystal in connection with these caves will be prosecuted with the utmost rigor of the law. The greatest destruction has taken place in the fine coppermine cave at Yarrangobilly where axes, crowbars chisels and even cartridges have been used in demolishing the beautiful formations of the cave. For the future the police will keep a sharp lookout for the perpetrators of outrages such as these. There are by the way unprotected caves at tuglow, ten miles south of Jenolan.
