Lithgow Mercury October 10th 1899
(From our own correspondent)
Mr Cale, of the Royal Hotel, is sparing no expense to have the place put in thorough repair. Everything is being attended to in order to meet requirements.
A coach is shortly to run from Rydal to the famous Jenolan Caves. The Rydal route is far and away the best being almost level. Some time ago the Commissioners had an idea to run a line from Rydal to the Caves and had a survey made for that purpose.
Messrs. Piggott and Doggett, railway employees are again patching up some of the culverts between Tarana and Rydal.
