The creator of the Harris Reed is Steve Harris. Steve is a piper of 30 years experience who currently plays with Victoria Police Pipe Band and Clayton RSL Pipe Band. Some of his achievements whilst with the Victoria Police Pipe Band include The Australasian Pipe Band Champions (Grade 1) ten years in succession and the 1998 World Pipe Band Champions (Grade 1) in Scotland. With a strong background in engineering, he has been able to manufacture the necessary tools to produce a high quality reed for pipers all over the world.  Have a at some of the tools used to make Harris Reedz (pictures may take a while to download).  Harris Reedz are hand made, pre-sanded and are all tested for the quality that is so sought after by pipers the world over.  Steve is also responsible for the design of the Chanter Reed Case, Screw Top Stock and Bagpipe Tool.

The other face behind the scenes at Harris Reedz is Sally Harris.  Although Sally does not play the bagpipes ("one piper in the family is quite enough"), she admits to being voluntarily dragged around the Pipe Band Competition scene for a number of years and has a love of the music and instrument.
