BIOGRAPHIES

In 1836 a family of seven people, William and Ann Grayling, their married son, William Major Grayling and his wife Ann, and their unmarried children, Richard, Sarah Ann and Anne Sophie arrived in Launceston aboard the vessel Amelia Thompson from London.
The family subsequently moved to Melbourne where they were later joined by several of their relatives.
Many descendants of this immigrant family are scattered throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United States, while the descendants of those who remained behind are still to be found in the south of England.
