Richard Grayling's tailoring scissors.
Richard Grayling
(1812 - 1869)

The scissors measure 260 mm x 80 mm.

In the latter part of her life, Richard's wife Jane Grayling lived in her own house on her daughter Agnes Henderson's farm at Balrooten, near Nhill. When Jane died the scissors stayed in the Henderson family until they were given to Jean Sherwood by her aunt Gertrude Henderson. Gertrude was Agnes's daughter.
