----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event Update! Well all has been said and done and many laughs were had. Let me put out a huge thankyou to all the comedians, audience, the sound guy and the great staff at the Boulevard Events Centre for supporting Stand Up Frankston for Team Dave. To all those who didn't come along for a laugh "SUFFER IN YOUR JOCKS" you missed a top night of comedy. To Dave Grant hope you felt the good positive vibes mate. Stay Strong. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have a laugh whilst knowing ticket sales are going towards helping Dave Grant's fight against cancer. On Friday 14th August 2009, Frankston’s Boulevard Events Centre and Robert Pyne from Fits of Laughter will be supporting Team Dave presenting a side splitting night of comedy. Touched by the shock announcement of Dave's fight against cancer, event organisers Robert Pyne and the Boulevard Events Centre wanted to create an event in which people could both support Dave in his fight and thank him for the countless amount of charity events that Dave has supported in the past. Many of Australia’s top comedic performers including Pommy Johnson along with a host of established and upcoming stars will be donating their time to raise funds for Team Dave. Ticket sales for the event will go directly to Dave Grant and his family to help ease the burden of his fight against this cruel disease. The venue holds an audience of 400 so lets see if we can sell this sucker out and have a side splitting night of comedy all while supporting Team Dave.

Pommy Johnson has developed a reputation as a live wire stand-up comdeian via extensive touring. His singing and guitar playing goes off the deep end. Parodies include Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, The Who plus many more celebrities that need a good shake-up. You'll be falling on the ground with his fast pace laugh-a-minute antics from corporate to full bore comedy. Your granny will laugh and your mates will blush with topical and nostalgic subjects - you just don't know what he might say but bet your funny bone you'll be crying. |

Aiden Pyne is 18 and is pretty awesome and chill for someone that’s a virgin who has no job but a massive slurpee cup collection (over 450 cups). A newcomer to the comedy scene, Aiden has already added most other comic’s to his facebook friends. Aiden has reached the Victorian Super Heats of RAW Comedy 2009. He has worked as an extra and is currently studying Cert III in Theatre and Screen Performance at the National Theatre. |

Dave County has performed his working class style of comedy all over Australia for the last 8 years. He is a one-time tradesman that will have you in stitches with his tales of playing amateur sport, working on building sites and his own unique take on everyday life - including recently becoming a father. There might even be some tips in there for expecting parents... and a guest or two dropping in to do a bit of stand-up of their own. |
