     Sir Horatio Palavicini was described as a collector of papal taxes during the reign of Queen Mary and a purloiner of them after her death.2 He married Ann Hiffman.3 Sir Horatio Palavicini was born circa 1540 in Genoa, Italy.2,4 He was naturalized by patent in 1586. He commanded an English vessel in the fight with the Spanish Armada in 1588.2 He was retired in 1590 after losing the favour of Elizabeth I.5 He died in 1600.5
