DIESEL

This is my best friend...Diesel...i found him in a litter of pups at an animal refuge.I had been looking for some time for a pup...wanting a Healer(also know as Australian cattle dog),either red or blue.Diesel was just running around having a good ol' time but i couldn't keep from smiling so i inquired and brought him home that day. That was in 1991.It was a sleepless night that night, the poor little bugger was howling all night long. The second night he was a little better,by the third he was fine.

Like me Diesel loves going bush,he cant wait to get in the car.As you can see water/mud is all good fun FOR HIM,but it means i have to clean inside the car once we get home...but he has fun and so do I

Diesel has been testing my nerves of late.He seems to enjoy escaping the back yard and running around the town while I am at work. He has manged to make his way to my parents place, some 5 or so kms away, crossing a few of the busiest roads in Dandenong along the way. One time he was gone at least 9 hours before he alerted my parents of his arrival at their place. When he finally was back home he was very sheepish and was licking his paws a lot. So far I have built 2 new gates, both now over 2 meters high and have replaced an old fence with a new one also 2 meters high. I found a hole he had started to dig and filled that in...the battle continues ;)

Big Diesel and the very young Cyclone

On the 20th of November 2003 Diesel was laid to rest. He will always be my best friend and companion.

The Rainbow Bridge.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches!
The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen and, when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be parted.
