Descendants of Richard Pearce

Notes

101. Ellen Pearce

BURIAL: There is a confusing entry in the Thame Register that refers to the burial of an Ellen in 1862 age 13 months. This would mean that this Ellen is presumeably someone born after the first Ellen died and called Ellen as a reminder. This would mean that the Ellen in this record would be a couple of years younger.

Emily Berne

Baptism Cert reads Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Liverpool in the
County of Lancastershire in the year 1829: 31st of May 1829, Emily of John
and Ellen Martha Berne abode being Whitemill Street?, Profession Mariner,
ceremony performed by William Goddard, Curate.
From From Ethyl Lewis, her mother stated that her grandmother was a ladies maid. She describes using a long round stick to smooth out the feather beds, leaving no lumps. Therefore she may have been an upstairs maid.

In 1882 the Shire of Seymour rates book has an Emily living on a property at Stoney Creek as follows;
Rec Year Name Occupation property owner Description Rates
226 1882 Emily Pearce Spinster Jos Marshall 369 acres fenced + house Stoney Creek 65 pound
This may be the daughter Emily, but the Spinster in the occupation column does not make sense for either. If it were widow it would be correct for Emily senior

83. Aaron Pearce

1881 census provides the address Priest End, Thame, Oxfordshire plus the
children and wife listed here. See also the notes on Aaron Snr.
The book "At the Foot of the Chilterns" sub titled "A History of Aston Rowant, Kingston Blount & Crowell." By Di Eaton and Jan Gooders mentions that from the 1860's to the 1880's Aaron Pearce was a shoemaker in the district. This may have been Aaron senior, but I suspect that it was this Aaron.

Sarah

Not sure if this is correct as the Census records say that he was married to Miriam

84. Emma Pearce

The daughter is just a guess based on the Sydenham records

Christine Gascoigne has this information and this Rev Pearce is not supposed to be a relative
