On Demons and Deliverance

We are told in Col 1:16 that there are four principle ranks of demons whom all the lower ranks serve. We are told these four are the rulers we wrestle with (Eph 6:10), the lower ranks serving the will of these rulers, We are also told in Col 1:16 that they were originally created by God. We are told elsewhere they rebelled against God and were cast out The Kingdom of God.

At Calvary, Jesus defeated these demonic leaders and publicly humiliated them to their spiritual brethren (the other angels created when they were created). (Col 2:15). He now rules them from heaven (1 Pet. 3:22).

One day all will bow before God and give an account of what they did (Dan 7:9) including demonic authority (thrones, the rulers of demonic kingdom).

It does not matter what demonic rank you face: Thrones, dominions, principalities or powers, all were defeated by Jesus at Calvary and all must obey when commanded to in Jesus Name in accordance with The Will of Jesus. It is only when you command in accordance with The Will of Jesus that you are able to express the authority delegated to you.

Got will use the church to show the greatness of his plans for creation, showing to the demons how wrong they were to reject Cod and His purposes for them (Eph 3:10)!

God originally created demons as angels. They rebelled under their leader, Satan, and became the enemies of God. Because they are created beings, God sustains them and gives them the ability to do what they do, He does not do this because He condones what they do but in accordance with His principles. He is sustaining all life (good or evil) until the Great White Throne Judgment when final judgment and punishment is made on all that ever lived.

How do demons perform apparent miracles or guide us to reject God and this principles (sin).

As our faith expressed through our prayers of ‘belief in what God can do, or through our delegated authority against Satan, appear to release God’s power and authority, so our lack of faith or trust in God or our acceptance of what Satan offers appears to allow Satan to do things to release his apparent miracles and power.

God will not go against our free will, neither can Satan, which is why our consent, either spoken or implied by our attitude, seems to be necessary before God or Satan can do anything to or for us! I am talking here about things we have a choice in and not things that are necessary for The Kingdom of God and which must be done for the purposes of The Kingdom of God.

Even though Satan is an escaped prisoner and has no rights the fact we accept what he offers still allows him to do things to or for us!

God and Satan both watch us to see what we will allow them to do to us! what they can do in our life is up to us! The prayer of faith and the command to cast out Satan or to do miracles, allows God to work in your life. Fear of God and lack of trust in His love, or Lusting after what Satan has offered you allows Satan to work in your life!

The Holy Spirit guides us to accept what God wants to give us or do for Him. Satan deceives us accept what he wants us to accept or do.

For us to sin, Satan has to persuade us to accept his way of thinking. If we refuse to accept what he places in our mind and cast them to the throne of Grace the moment they are placed in it we will not knowingly sin (2 Cor 10:5).

Because we must reject what The Holy Spirit desires us to understand or do for God and accept what Satan offers if we are to sin we have no one to blame but ourself if we end up in hell with him as our ruler!

Satan is defeated (Eph 4: 8, Col 2:15)

Satan has no right to the earth or any thing on it, He was defeated by Jesus at Calvary and was imprisoned, He has no legal rights to people, animals, insects or anything else on the earth, in the atmosphere or in it. Satan’s former kingdom and possessions (except hell) now belong to Jesus.

He is an escaped prisoner. Any demons out of the prison God has made for them have no rights and can be sent back to the prison (in the delegated authority Jesus has given to us) and punished. We do not need to know where this prison is just that they are out of it so we can send them to The Throne of God for Jesus to judge and punish.

Satan can be cast out of any thing (except hell and the prison of demons) as he has no right to be anywhere else and can be punished for what he has done while out of hell or that prison Gal (6:7-8).)

The only danger in casting Satan out of non-christians is that seven worse demons will enter the person along with the original one so it is best to bind demons in non-christians so that they can not do any thing and cannot attack or influence the non-Christian in away way.

In Christians, you must always ask the Holy Spirit to replace the demons that have gone as that stops demons replacing the ones that have been cast out!

Hell

God is love and has done all He can for people to be saved and not go to hell. People are in hell by their own choice because they rejected all God did to try and stoop them going there. It is not a good palace to be in.

Satan was cast out and given rulership of hell is in charge of all that happens there. In hell he responsible for God’s punishment on people and is in charge of carrying them out. God is not responsible for what happens there as He is not its ruler. He has given the stewardship to Satan to rule. It is Satan’s dominion and he is lord of it and it is his base of operations.

Those in hell are there because they resisted the prompting of God (The Holy Spirit) and embraced what Satan offered them so when they die they go to where he rules and are rewarded in the only way Satan knows how: Torment, hatred and lovelessness.

Satan is the lord of hell and can do anything he wants to his subjects (the people in hell) and God will not do anything to stop him as Satan is legally lord of hell and God will not go against Satan’s free will.

God cannot punish Satan for what he does in hell as he is lord of it and the laws of God do not apply to hell so Satan gets to say what happens thee without the interference of God. Hell is off limits to the regulations in other words.

Outside of hell Satan can be attacked as those areas belongs to Jesus and Satan has no legal right to be there, neither does any demon under his command.

The regulations do not apply to hell as Satan has a right to do what he wants to there but they apply to every place outside of hell.

The punishments in hell are not designed by God. Hell was designed by God as a prison and not a place of torture. God does not torment people but Satan does! Satan has no concept of love or mercy only lovelessness and hatred so his reward for all who follow him are the torments of hell.

People end up in hell because they reject the redemption and salvation Jesus offers, preferring the pleasures that Satan offers instead. So Satan is their ruler and when they die they go his spiritual kingdom and are rewarded with hell and his tortures.

Our delegation to defeat demons (Mark 16:17)

The delegation is found in Mark (16:17. Casting out demons in at the top of the list of signs that Jesus said would be done by those who truly believed in who He was as it is so important to be free from demons to effectively live the Christian life.

The early church use to put people through deliverance before they admitted them to church membership.

The Kingdom of God comes forcefully through the removal of the opposition of Satan and his demons and the only weapons we have to do this is the delegated authority of Jesus.

We are not given The Holy Spirit partially when we are marked by Him as belonging to Jesus, neither are we given partial delegation over Satan and his demons. The delegation is complete, over every demon, or it would be useless for the battle. Satan is defeated and the delegated authority of Jesus is an expression of this victory over him so he has to obey it!

The Battle, a strategy.

The strategy of God is to fight the demonic leaders and their plans (Eph. 6:10).

If you fight the lower ranks they are just replaced when cast out but remove the leaders then there is no one to plan the attack, or to order replacements or direct the attacks of the lower ranks of demons!

What can you do to demons who escape from their prison?

The Geneva convention does not apply to escaped demons so many things can bee done as long as it is in accordance with the guidelines of Jesus in Gal 6:7-8, (that you reap what you sow). Jesus is their judge and has the final say in their punishments.

Because they are escaped demons they can be commanded in Jesus’ Name to leave a person and ago back to Jesus to be judged. It does not matter where they are, what they are doing or what rights they say they have. They have escaped from prison and are being sent back to Jesus and to be punished for that alone.

How are they punished?

They can have done to them what they did to anyone they have hurt (Gal 6:7-8). This punishment continue until they are thrown into The Lake of fire. Those who planned what they did or are doing or going to do as well as any demon who has helped or encouraged them in any way can also be sent to The Throne of Grace to be punished. They are accomplices in the crimes of the demons and can be punished for that.

We can decree any punishment we like and often Jesus will allow it but He has the right to set the punishment as He is the judge, which is why we need to send them to The Throne of Grace to be judged and have the punishment confirmed or a new one decreed by Him.

Always send demons to the Throne of God to get punished. We have delegated authority to cast them out but punishment really is the right of Jesus. Decree what you want then leave it to Him.

In Conclusion to this section

Satan was defeated at Cavalry and when commanded to go in the Name of Jesus He must go. He has no option. If he is stubborn Just ask The Lord Jesus to carry out His delegated authority.

Explanation of the Different Type of Deliverance

Level 1

This is the first and most importance deliverance a Christian has, from the rulership of Satan to the Lordship of Jesus. This is when the Christian life starts for all.

Level 2

This method of deliverance is based on giving all to Jesus to be Lord of and so placing it under His protection in His Kingdom. As nothing defiled can enter The Kingdom of God demons have to leave the area when told to do so when it has been given to Jesus to be Lord of.

You do not need to know any sins just events and weaknesses so theses can be given to Jesus using the framework of the five steps.

Voices in the head.

God gives His guide, called The Holy Spirit, and Satan tries to imitate Him!

The Holy Spirit is one and usually places thoughts, impressions, images and even emotions is in your mind. When He is speaking there is only person in your wind.  You will know it is Him because you will have peace when He places things in your mind. If you do not have peace or there are two or more voices or ideas inputting in to your mind at the same time then you know there are demons and not the The Holy Spirit which need to be cast out.

Bible Authority for the Regulations

In Luke 9:1 Jesus gave His followers authority over all demons for the purposes of removing them from the people of the Kingdom or hindering The work of the Kingdom. Jesus came to destroy the work of Satan and passed that responsibility onto us (Mark 16:17, 1 Jn. 3:8).

He also said that what we bind and loose on earth is also bound and loosed in heaven (The Kingdom of God) and because it's part of the regulations of The Kingdom of

God they are also those of Jesus, whose Spirit has told us what to regulate anyway (Jn. 16:13),

As they become part of the regulations of Jesus they can be enforced in His Name as they are to stop Satan and his plans. The authority to use His Name was delegated to us in Mark (16:17)

He told us in Rev 3:9 That demons would be controlled by us and recognise our authority in Jesus because we have obeyed His commands, enduring the trials necessary to do them (v10)) and also because He Loves us (V9).

God Loves us because we love Him and endured faithfully and obediently so He throws His full authority behind us when we attack Satan and his works and it must be done forcefully as The Kingdom of God is expanded by force and it is only against Satan and his plans is there anything to attack forcefully! (Ep 6:12, Mat 11:2)

The Five Steps to Victory and the reasons for them

These steps are not to be said as a magic formula as they are not one. They are only a framework of principles to use. They are a giving in your heart of these areas to Jesus for Him to be Lord of repenting of any wrong done in these areas, removing Satan from them and all the damage he did in these areas.

First I give the step and then the reason for the step.

Step 1. Give the area, weakness, circumstance, event, oppression, sin or temptation to Jesus to be Lord over it, along with all the events leading to these things as well as the consequences resulting from these things.

What Jesus is Lord over, He can help you with and protect, so that Satan can not use it against you. When Jesus is Lord of an area of your life Satan cannot use it to try and convince you to sin as you do not want to accept what he offers. To control any area Satan needs to deceive you so you will accept his control over it.

Step 2. Repent of any wrong attitude in you, either known or unknown to you, or any wrong thing done by you. Forgive all those who have offended you as well as of repent of any bitterness, root of bitterness anger and wrong attitudes in your heart (whether you know of them or not) towards anyone (including yourself).

Repentance is a turning away from the things of Satan to the things of God and is a confirmation of your decision to give Jesus Lordship in that area repented of. Repentance is usually of a blanket type when using The Five Steps and does not need to be specific (unless specific things are being given to Jesus or The Holy Spirit calls specific things to your remembrance). It is the heart attitude that is important not the words.

It is necessary to forgive yourself and others or The Father in heaven cannot forgive your sins and you do not go to heaven. If you keep bitterness, root of bitterness, anger or any other wrong attitudes in your heart you are in unforgiveness.

You may have to pray "Lord forgive. Help me to forgive please".

Step 3. Command Satan in Jesus’ Name to leave the areas or things given to Jesus and to go to The Throne of God and be judged..

It is a battle of kings, so you address the enemy king and tell him to leave control of the territory (in your soul) that has just been given to Jesus, otherwise he will not go. That is why prayer alone is ineffective, as it still leaves the demons around since you have not commanded them to leave. As the area is delivered from the control of the kingdom of Satan all that is in there of Satan (demons, illness caused by them) must go.

Jesus has the prerogative to heal illness when it is best for the purposes of His Kingdom so if healing does not occur ask why and you may find it is a timing issue (for the purposes of The kingdom) or more repentance needs to be done.

Step 4. Command healing and restoration in Jesus’ Name and if necessary, the healing of the sound mind, the wounded spirit, the soul and the ‘heart of flesh given to you by Jesus as well as any integration that is needed of the personality because areas of the mind and personality were previously blocked off and controlled or badly influenced by demons that have now been removed from these areas.

This removes damage demons have done to you.

Step 5. Ask The Holy Spirit to fill you and to take the place of any demon(s) that have left.

This replaces demons that left your soul (house) with The Holy Spirit. Our spirit is filled by The Holy Spirit, so demons cannot get into it, and they complain about this bitterly. Our soul (house) is where demons live, so as they leave, you need to replace them with The Holy Spirit. If you do not do this, seven worse demons will replace them very quickly and the person will be more worse off than before.

The Five Steps are all based on Worship

Step 1. We give these things to Jesus because He is worthy and can deal with them in a worthy fashion. We love Him and thus worship Him by trusting Him with the things we give him. We also declare He is Lord of all as we do this and that He is greater than Satan.

Step 2. We repent (admit we have fallen short of His standards) and by this worship Him showing that we consider His values more worthy to follow than our own values and purposes and that we desire to live according to His standards.

Step 3. He is more worthy than Satan having defeated him by His sinless life as well as His death at Calvary, so Satan must do what is commanded in the authority of Jesus (as he and his demons are now ‘spoils of war’ and the prisoner of Jesus). By using the authority Jesus has delegated to us over Satan, we show we consider Jesus to be more worthy of worship than Satan.

Step 4. Jesus is worthy to be worshipped as He has authority over all the natural world as well as the spiritual world so He can command healing of body, soul and spirit. We use His authority delegated to us as an act of worship to Him as we command these healings in His Name in accordance with His Will.

Step 5. We desire to be Like Jesus (as He is the most desirable person we know) and as an act of worship ask for His Spirit to take the place of the enemy that has been evicted from us so that His Spirit can guide us and mature into the image of Jesus.

The basis of what to cast out in the framework of the five steps is the use of an area to be given to The Lord rather than fighting individual demons. For example, a person may have a problem with various ares of pornography. The person doe not have to declare each area he has problems with but gives the whole area of pornography in his life to Jesus to deal with and be lord of. He will do a general repentance for he area of pornography in his life and not each specific thing unless told to by The Holy Spirit.

When a demon enters they invites others in so that there may be many demons. If you fight individual demons you need to remove them one at a time. If you give the area to The Lord then they all have to go when cast out from that area.

This is why you give areas, events, weaknesses, circumstances, agreements etc to The Lord so everything in that area is dealt with at once. You do not need to ask for forgiveness of individual sins as they were forgiven at Calvary so a general repentance only for the area is required. Such as:

Lord, I am sorry for all the things I did in this area (name the area and will try to not do them again.

Remember the area can be named in your heart so no one knows as Jesus knows and that is what is important

It may be necessary to examine types of sins to determine the root cause so you know which area(s) to give to Jesus but usually it is not necessary to examine individual sins of a person to determine what the area is that is to be given to Jesus.

Jesus knows all our sins so we do not need to confess them individually but just the area of weakness they are in. All he asks is that we try not to sin in that area and if we do then we give it back to Him to be Lord of using the framework of the five steps (unless it is an external attack in which case we use the last three steps) and keep on trying not to sin.

Note

The five steps are not a litany or magic formula you recite by rote but are a framework of five principles to use like a ladder. Each rung leads to the next rung and on each rung you place what is appropriate to that rung, The first rung is the one that varies according to the situation, and is based on giving the situation to Jesus to be Lord of. The next four rungs really do not change as they really do not need to change to meet the requirements of the situation being prayed about. The fourth rung (healing) may change a little according to the situation so next is listed some guidelines as to what to pray for when commanding healing.

What is usually commanded to be healed in Step fourth step is as follows:

Spirit: The wounded spirit healed

Mind: Memories, emotions, wrong habits, attitudes, reactions and the sound mind restored

Soul: filled with Holy Spirit so demons cannot come back into it.

The Soul, Spirit and body may need to be realigned at times, especially after long periods on pain killers or similar.

Heart: The broken heart healed and made whole restored

Personality: unified, integrated and made whole to counteract its fragmentation from hidden nests of demons That have been removed.

Body: Healed of the ravages of demons on it that have now been evicted

Level 3 War in the soul

Sometimes demons are hidden and are not removed as they have not been found out. This is why there are still problems with sin an area of sin after deliverance as these hidden demons still attack the person. Usually they are hidden in blocked off part of the memory that the person cannot face. This is when you ask The Holy Spirit to take you into their soul and look for these demons.

This sounds very new age, but it is not. Satan can only copy and He took these things from God, perverted them and used them for the new age so what we are doing is rediscovering what was there in the beginning.

Remember, go in guided by The Holy Spirit, unlike new age people who are guided by demons.

Ensure you have given your soul to The Holy Spirit and repented of unforgiveness and that Jesus is Lord of everything in your life or you will not be able to enter the soul as there will be a spiritual wall there you cannot cross.

Level 4 The Regulations of The Kingdom of God.

This is based on the binding and loosing Jesus spoke about:

Mat 16: 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

We are guided to make regulations are made against the work of demons on earth. When they are enforced demons have to do what the regulation says. This is because they are captives and have no rights so can be dealt with summarily. ‘

The Holy Spirit will show you what regulations to make to be recorded in the annals of The Kingdom of God.

Anyone can make these regulation if The Holy Spirit tells you too. Unless they are mandated by God they are ineffective as they are not His Will.

When you command one demon to go only one demon goes. When you make a regulation then eery demon has to go as you do not need to be around to enforce or even be alive as it is in heaven and enforced by Jesus.

When attacked, unless I need deliverance in the area I command in Jesus’ Name for all the regulations in The Kingdom of God to be enforced on demons everywhere.

The format for a regulations is something like:

In Jesus Name I command a regulation to be written in the Annals of heaven for all time that any demon that... here list what you do not want them to do... Is to go to the Throne of God and be judged,

Going into the soul requires a seer but the regulations only require you to be able to hear The Holy Spirit when He wants a regulation made and level 2 deliverance just requires someone with words of knowledge.

Satan taught the church deliverance to slow it down, make it seem extremely difficult requiring years o learning but you can see how simple it is from the level 2 deliverance method using the framework of The Five Steps.

Other Comments

You should always keep in contact for a while with someone you have helped through deliverance and teach them how to handle Satanic attacks using the five steps.

The following must be communicated to people wether they have been helped by you or not.

When Tempted

Satan cannot make you do anything you do not agree to do. He has to deceive you into agreeing with what he wants you to do. So, the first line of defence is to reject what he offers. When you are attacked ask The Holy Spirit if you are being attacked from within you or outside of you. It attacked from within you then deliverance is needed. If attacked from outside of you then cast it out in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged.

Most demons have names that are foreign to us so it would be nearly impossible to cast them out by their names. As long as we can identify them by their activity then we can cast them to in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged

If you are attacked in an area often or have a weakness you are having trouble overcoming then you probably have a need for deliverance in that area.

When you are tempted and feel you need deliverance use the following framework of the five steps Jesus gave me:

As it is a battle of kings you address the enemy king (Satan).

These five steps are the basis of the deliverance prayers used in this booklet and are as follows:

Give the sin, area of moral weakness, circumstance, problem, event or situation to Jesus to be lord of, as well as all that led to the area, event etc as well as the consequence of this event(s).

Forgive all who have offended you including yourself, repent of unforgiveness, bitterness, root of bitterness, anger any wrong emotions or attitudes to others or yourself and also of any sins you are bringing to Jesus.

You may need to pray :"Lord I forgive. Help me to forgive",

Command Satan to go in Jesus’ Name as he no longer has a right to these areas as they now belong to Jesus,

In Jesus Name command healing and restoration of all the damage Satan did to you,

Ask Jesus to send The Holy Spirit to fill you replacing all the demons that have left

If there is no need for deliverance then tell any demon attacking you that you belong to Jesus and to go to in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged and ask The Holy Spirit to take their place.

Any emotion, altitude or feeling that is negative is not from God but is either a suggestion from a demon or a demon playing on hurts reactions (habits) in you.

Accordingly you will either cast out a demon from inside you using the five steps or command an external demon to leave using steps 3 to 5 of the five steps.

Whenever I get any wrong thought sensation, feeling or emotion, I command the demons behind it to leave and go to in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged.

In summary:

If the thought is from God, you obey it.

If the thought is from you ensure it is given to God or dealt with as He tells you to. It may also be a need for deliverance in that area.

If the thought is from Satan, reject it after determining if either deliverance is needed (demons inside you) or just casting out of the demon is required (external demons attacking) then do what you need to cast Him toin Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged.

If the thought is external then the last three steps are only needed

The key is to take the thought, emotion or sensation captive to Jesus (2 Cor 10:5). In other words the demon placing the thought in your mind , sensation or emotion is cast to in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to b \e judged.

Just resisting the thought does nothing. It is capturing the source of it that removes the demon and the temptation.

To deal with any demonic rooms (nests) that were not removed by a deliverance session, give the area etc., (step 1) to Jesus, then do the remaining four steps. You may need to ask The Holy Spirit what to give to Jesus as what is happening may be completely different to the original cause of it.

If you give the area etc., all the events leading to it and all the consequences of it to Jesus you should also catch the root cause. Sometimes a specific event may need to be repented of and if you cannot hear what it is from The Holy Spirit then find someone who can. But first attack Satan and stop him blocking you and see if that allows you to hear what you need to repent of. It is does not then seek these people.

How does Satan attack?

Satan attacks you by placing thoughts in your mind, emotions on your personality or feelings/sensations in your body. He also tries to deceive you from the truth of a situation or distract you from what Jesus wants you to do.

Thoughts

Satan will try to tell you things are different to what they really are. He has to make you accept his lies so he can use you for his purposes or hinder your being used by Jesus. He has to convince you that something you have, you really do not have or something you really do not have, you have. If you are sane, he may suggest you have mental problems etc. He will often suggest the opposite of what you are in the hope you believe him and he can then mould your thinking as he wants too.

If you are saved he will throw thoughts into your mind that question that to the stage you will wonder if you are saved. If you have been given a God given ministry he will make you question that it is the correct on until you look elsewhere for the ministry he suggests you should have. If you are sane he may try and get you to believe you are mentally unstable etc.

He places emotions on you like sensual pleasure to try and get you to sin either sexually or other sensual ways or distract you from the self-control God wants you to have so that you sin and like the pleasures he has given you more than what God wants you to do.

He can place moods on you like fear, anxiety and depression so that you do not have the joy of God and wonder what is wrong with you that you have these things for no apparent reason.

Remember, Satan does things subtly and will use doubt about things, especially the things of God to have you start to question the truths of God. If he can get you to do that he can then either use you or hinder your walk with Jesus.

He has to have you think a certain way so he can use it for his purposes and uses all he can to do this. This is why when you have anything negative in your mind you are to cast it to in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to b e judged

How to Hear The Holy Spirit

It is important to be able to hear The Holy Spirit clearly s He is your guide to live as Jesus desires you to live and to fight Satan as Jesus desires you to fight Satan. Remember Rom. 8:14, that to be an adopted child of The Father you need to be led by The Holy Spirit.

Preparatory Prayer

Lord, I want to hear The Holy Spirit so I can do Your Will and be guided to be Your follower and son/daughter by adoption. I give this desire to You and am sorry for anything I have done wrong in this area.

In Jesus’ Name I command any demons that are blocking me from hearing and understanding the truths The Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit want me to hear and understand to go immediately to the in Jesus’ Name to The Throne of God to be judged. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to take their place.

How You Hear Him

Unless The Holy Spirit or Satan actually appear to you, they can only talk to you in your mind. When they are speaking it is as if they are your own thoughts or that you are talking to yourself. People often mistake this for a disorder as if there are apparently two personalities in them when demons are speaking audibly in your mind. Also when The Holy Spirit is speaking, they usually think it is their own thoughts. So you need to know who is interacting with you.

If it is not our thoughts then it is either The Holy Spirit or Satan placing them there. You can actually hold a conversation with the Holy Spirit or the demons representing Satan and ask them questions and they will answer if appropriate. Only answers from The Holy Spirit are 100% truthful. Demons will answer in a way that furthers their purposes for you.

You will need to silence your mind. You may have trouble hearing Him (The Holy Spirit) especially if you are in a place full of distractions or in a place where Satan rules. Remember, The Holy Spirit, has a still, small (quiet) voice.

He will place an impression, picture, or thought in your mind, give you an emotion, or even speak to you in an audible voice. You will know it is from Him as it will not cause you to fear. He may speak in other ways than these, but these are the normal ways. You may feel a check in your spirit which is a ‘no’. If He does not reply it is also a ‘no’, so you ask Him the reason why He said no as He may tell you and you may find out more by this than by the answer you wanted.

The answer He gives will line up with The Bible, and you will have peace in your heart over it. Remember, God will not contradict His Word.

Remember that Satan will try and cause you doubt about what you are hearing then cause you to reason that it is wrong or impossible so that you believe you are not hearing correctly. He will also at times place fear or other wrong emotions in you to cause you to doubt God’s Love, Control, Plans or Purposes for you to take away your rust in God and your Joy in Him and His things He ha for you. At times Satan will block you hearing The Holy Spirit so you need to cast him out and stop him doing this and ask again. If you do not hear from The Holy Spirit, ask the following:

Are you in a place in which Satan rules so that the spiritual atmosphere is blocking The Holy Spirit?

Are you in sin and do you need to deal with it using the five points?

Are you to ask this particular question of The Holy Spirit?

If you do not get an answer, it may not be the time to ask

It may not be the time to receive the answer

It may not be an appropriate question to ask

Are you to command demons that are blocking you from hearing the Holy Spirit to leave in Jesus’ Name?

Do you really want to hear the answer?

Are you seriously listening or just going through the motions of listening

The Holy Spirit is your Companion in this life, so it is necessary to be in continual communication with Him as He helps you to navigate the traps of Satan and do the Will of God.

In regard to what they should do in the way of Bible Study, Scripture Memory etc, each church has their own materials. Just ensure they know how to fight Satan and hear The Holy Spirit and The Holy Spirit will do the rest of the following up of the deliverance.

A philosophy of faith

Either God is God or He is not

If He is, then you have no real choice but to do what He says. If He is not God, then you do what you want to as there is no one apparently to give an account too of your life when you die.

Either Jesus is God or He is not God.

If He is God, then everything He said can be trusted and He must be obeyed in everything. If He is not God, you can do what you want as there is no accountability. Without Jesus The Law serves no purpose.

Either the Bible is relevant or it is not

If you believe The Bible is God’s guidelines for your daily living then you have no choice but to do what it says. If you do not believe this then you can pick and choose what you want to obey as there is no one apparently to answer too if you disobey what it says.

If you do not believe any part of The Bible such as Genesis or ‘six day creation’ then you cannot use The Bible for anything (including salvation) as you do not know what other parts are not true and just allegory, folklore or the writings of men. You may as well write your own bible, as some have done in the modern versions and write what you believe in and not what God says in the original texts to believe in.

Either God is a personal God or He is not

If He is a personal God then He wants to relate to you in a personal relationship, communicating with you what He wants you to do as well as how to relate to Him. If He is not a personal God then you may as well pray to a stone idol for the response you will get from Him.

Either the devil exists or he does not.

If Satan exists then if you belong to Jesus and His Kingdom you are at war with him and his demons and you are continually repelling their attacks against you unless you ignore the battle or believe the lie fed by demons to Christians that demons do not attack you once you are a Christian.

If you do not believe Satan exists or is not relevant to a Christian’s daily living then you will ignore him and not fight him or his demons. There will be no supernatural warfare in your life. Mental illness will be purely a problem of a person’s thinking and not have a demonic element to it. Sickness will not have a supernatural element at times and will be purely physical in nature. You will not fight a devil you do not believe in or see no need to fight him and you will not plunder His kingdom and by this you will inhibit the work of Jesus and will not do the ministry He did and may even not belong to His kingdom.

If Satan is not relevant to a you as Christian you will not need to pray against him and his attacks on you as he supposedly cannot hurt you. Mark 16:17 is not necessary if this is true which means Jesus has lied by telling us to do something that is not necessary (cast out demons) and if this is so He is not perfect and cannot be God and we are not saved through Him.

I could continue on with this line of discussion as people do not usually consider the alternatives when they rationalise God, His requirements or His enemy. They state things without examining the full consequences.

Liberal theologians decry the Bible’s inerrancy but really have nothing to offer in its place. Some people say the authority of Jesus and the Gifts are not for this current age but have nothing to replace them as they seek to do what the early church did without using these things. When you take away things we need to have faith in you really have only what man has reasoned to replace them. And these reasonings are prompted by Satan.

People question The accuracy of the Bible. If you cannot accept any part of The Bible as you consider it is wrong or folk tales (and not historical), you are then stating The Bible has error in it so you have no basis for using any part of it as it is not a reliable document according to you. You cannot use it for salvation, for learning about God or what He wants you to do or to know the rewards He has for you. You may as well write your own bible as you will be able to trust it as much as the one that you question the accuracy of. Either the Bible is 100% accurate or it is only good as a fire starter or compost as it may be unreliable in areas that require faith and you cannot then trust what it asks you to have faith in.

People, like evolutionists, who ignore Genesis as being historically inaccurate but say they are Christians, serve another god who allow them to believe what they want from the Bible, to pick and choose what their reason accepts. Without Genesis being accurate, we do not have sin through Adam, the need for Jesus to die, that God is God as He did not create but evolved things and if He did not do it in seven days He is a liar and cannot be believed and neither can anything He promised be believed.

Faith really must believe God and what He says as there is nothing to replace these things. This is why faith is not really blind. It may not see the end but its belief is based on a reasoning that God is Love and that all He does is sourced in this Love for all His creation and His created beings. You must also believe He is in control and that His Plans and Purpose for you are perfect and He is doing what is best for you in the long term.

There are no fence sitters where faith or the Kingdom of God is concerned. You live in the enemy’s territory and the battle is all around you so you try and avoid this battle at your peril.

Deliverance is part of the battle and if you believe God you will be involved in deliverance.

A Philosophy of Deliverance

Philosophy is defined as

A belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group or a school of reasoning (a way of thinking about something).

The rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics

Any personal belief about how to live or how to deal with a situation

A belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group or school

The Bible talks of and illustrates deliverance so it is a tenet of The Bible that demons can inhabit people. The problem is as to whether they can inhabit Christians.

Christians have a ‘house’ like non-christians and have been seen to manifest (behave like demon possessed non-christians) so on the basis of experience it appears Christians can have demons. This does not mean they are demon possessed. Demons will tell you they cannot inhabit the spirit of a Christian as the Holy Spirit is there to mark them as belonging to God and to mark us as His People and His Possession.

Whoever inhabits the spirit of a person is their master. Whoever inhabits their house (soul) shows how much their master is their lord through how much of the enemy is still able to live in it.

Remember also that Jesus only cast demons out of people who called Him Lord and as such were His Followers (except where they were so possessed they needed to be delivered to make up their mind for or against Jesus or were under the legal authority of another).

Demons outside a person cannot manifest in a person but they can physically and emotionally affect a person. Only those that have been given a right by a person to inhabit them can live in their soul.

Jesus drove demons out of three classes of people:

Those so possessed they did not know what they were doing

People under the ‘age of reason’ who had a guardian that asked Jesus to deliver the child.

People who were not under a guardian and asked Jesus to deliver them

All who confessed Jesus was the Messiah (Lord), believed in and followed Him and obeyed Him as Lord were delivered.

Deliverance is only for those who confess (believe/declare) Jesus as their Lord and so deliverance can only be for the followers of Jesus, namely Christians. Non-christians have salvation when they make this confession/declaration and deliverance then follows, firstly from Satan’s control and then (if they believe in it) from the effects of Satan on them. Non-christians are under Satan’s control and Jesus cannot deliver them unless they reject this control and turn to Jesus as their Lord.

The right Satan has appears to be agreement to accept what the demon offers either to the person they enter or granted to an ancestor of them as Satan cannot force His way into a person but needs an access of some sort to be granted Him by a person.

The rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics

Ethics is defined as

The principles of right and wrong that are accepted by an individual or a social group

A system of principles governing morality and acceptable conduct

Do demons exist?

The Bible says they do and God calls them His enemies, so if one truly believes in God then they will have to believe in demons or call God a liar and by this remove Him as their god and saviour as he has lied and has shown imperfection. God, by definition has no imperfection.

Are Demons good or evil?

They oppose God, who is all goodness and Love therefore they must be evil as they oppose good. By their actions they show this to be so as they try and destroy all God stands for as well as those that follow God. They oppose fully the Laws God has made for us to live by and by this show their immorality.

It can be seen that according to God the ethics of demons are incorrect.

Any personal belief about how to live or how to deal with a situation

If a person follows God’s guidelines and truly believe in these they will deal with demons, as according to God, these are their enemy out to destroy them (1 Pet 5:8), and which can inhabit their soul if they are ignored. To deny this is to deny what God says about them as well as to deny the evidence of experience.

Those who deal with demons will use what is provided for them by God to use:

The Authority released through His death at Calvary (Rev 12:11) delegated to us (Mark 16:17)

His gifts of The Holy Spirit

The Truths of Jesus found in The Bible.

Our relationship to Jesus is important as it is the basis for being able to fight demons. We fight demons for three reasons:

Defence of the things of our King (His subjects)

Our self preservation

As a responsibility of ours since we are a citizen of The Kingdom of God being used to expand His Kingdom (evangelism etc.).

Anyone belonging to God and in a correct relationship with God will be fighting his enemy on a regular basis as they will do what their ruler requires of them:

Defend Him and His territory

Set people free from the enemy

Keep themselves from the influences of the enemy

Anyone not doing this cannot truly be said to belong to the King unless they are resting from the battle, training for it or are still spiritually a child to young to fight learning how to fight and who must be defended by more mature Christians.

The fact God gives you weapons to fight demons shows they are a real threat and that He expects you to fight them and that their threats and activities do need to be dealt with.

Summary

God does not lie and what He says goes. He says in the New Testament that there are demons and they oppose Him and his people as well as who try to destroy them. He states we can defeat them and take back their territory (people and places) from them. If God does not appear to work then He is not to blame but people are because their concept of His ethics is wrong in some way. This means that their belief in or understanding of His ethics is incorrect in some areas and that is this preventing God from using them to deliver people as He would like too. This is assuming these people want to follow His ethics for if they do not they are on the side of His enemy by default in which case, unless they change sides, there can never be true deliverance for them and they may even lose their salvation.
