Headship
We
serve Jesus (Mat 25:40)
- He
tells us
- Who
to serve
- When
to serve them
- How
to serve them
- Where
to serve them
- He is
King of all (Phil 2:9-11)
- Spiritually
- Administratively
- He is
represented on earth by The Holy Spirit
- Our
help in earth
- Teaches
us
- Guides
us
- Tells
us the Will of Jesus for us
- He
is the only one appointed to do this work
- We
do not need anyone else to tell us the Will of God for us
- No
one is over us but Jesus (Not even The Holy Spirit)
- We
can be mentored by others spiritually but not ruled by them
- We
represent The Kingdom
- Only
seen if we show it
- Demonstrated
by it showing God's type of Love
- Demonstrated
by showing its authority over Satan and his works
- We
are stewards and not owners of what God gives us to look after on His
behalf
- All
we have is to be used for the purposes of The King and His Kingdom
- Only
faithful stewards get to heaven
- All
He asks us to do is for our best so we use His possessions as He
directs us too
- Stewardship,
obedience and relationships are what we are judged on in heaven
The
Body
- Christ
the Head
- Head
of The Body Eph 5:23
- Bishop
(spiritual carer) of our soul 1 Pet 2:25
- Spiritual
Body
- In
Citizens of The Kingdom on earth and in heaven
- No
administrative duties
- Nothing
on earth to administrate
Does
not need buildings
or organisations to administer its assets
Early
church never
had dedicated buildings or organisations to do the work of The Kingdom
Stewardship
is not
for the purposes of The Body but for the purposes of Jesus which may
include The
Body
Denomination/Church
- Administrative
Body
- + Set
up for man's purposes
- If it
has a Spiritual purpose it replaces Jesus
- If it
assumes control of any kind over people in The Body it divides The Body
- Satan
promotes denominations and churches
- They
divide The Body
- They
hide The Kingdom of God
- The
promote pride in their church and inhibit God's Love being shown
- Hinders
God's work
- Denominations
promote their own agenda
- Churches
promote their own agenda
If
The Body is important
- There
will be unity amongst the churches
- The
will share resources
- Giftings
- Finances
- Assets
(they are stewards of these and not owners of them)
- They
will not care where a new convert goes to worship
- They
will demonstrate The Kingdom of God
- The
character of The Kingdom (The Love of Jesus)
- They
will demonstrate the authority of The kingdom over Satan and his works
- They
will build The Kingdom and not a church or denomination
Acts
6 division of spiritual and administrative set up because Body and
administrative side are different
- Pastors
spiritual (The Body)
- Mature
people
- Disciple
them
- Guide
them
- Teach
them
- Deacons
administrative (denomination/church legal requirements)
In
Closing
Unless
the churches unite and work as one body, The
Body of Christ, and demonstrate the authority f The Kingdom of God over
Satan
and his world system. The church will be
ineffective in this modern world.
Can
a woman lead?
Ministry
to others that is spiritual is to The Body
which Jesus is the head of.
Headship
is only domestic. Otherwise you would be
replacing the position
of Jesus in The Body and as He has not delegated authority over The
Body to
us. Any one assuming it is displacing
The Holy Spirit (the guide of The Body) and Jesus (its head).
For
a man to lead in The Body, his family must be in
order. That would include the roles his
wife has. This means she too could
lead. This would allow the real
intention of Jesus, husband and wife ministering as one, to be fully
implemented.
In
the spiritual, both are equal so can have equal
roles.
For
anyone to minister, they only need to be
mature. Which is why a Christian wife of
a non-Christian husband is able to minister.
But she can never lead in that spiritually unequal marital state.
However! When
men have refused to lead God has chosen women:
Amy Semple Mcpherson, Maria Woodworth-etta,
Amy Charmichael, Kathryn Khulman etc.
These
people did not lead churches but revival
movements. Where The Kingdom of God was
displayed for all to see.
Men
lead churches do not allow women to lead or minister.
But that is for the purposes of The
Denomination and not for the purposes of Jesus.
He is the only leader in The Body and all who have a leadership
role in
it are really mentors of other son His behalf.
They are servants and not controllers.
Marriage
- Jesus
head of husband and wife
- Spiritually
all are equal
- Equal
for the purposes of ministering to each other
- Elder
(leader of the church) must be a male (Titus 1:6)
- Church
is like a family
- Father
is ruler of The Family
- Ruler
in the assembly must be a male (elder)
- Unless
they can rule their family well they cannot rule a church
- How
ever where all women are involved
- Not
a family type situation
- A
woman can lead
- Maybe
best to have an elder of the church appointed to help with any problems
though
- Elder
does not have to be in the meeting with the women
- Bible
does not say they have to be in the meeting only their qualifications
to be an elder
- Ministry
within the church is dependant on maturity so either sex can minister
- Husband
cannot be spiritual head
- If
he is the spiritual head he replaces Jesus and wife no longer serves
The Body
- He
has no delegation from Jesus to be her spiritual head
- Husband
can only be administrative (domestic) head
- Eph 5
Christ the Head of the church
- 1
Pet 2:25 to 1 Pet 3:6
- Wife
belongs to Kingdom of Jesus
- Husband
to kingdom of Satan
- If
husband spiritual head of wife
- She
is ruled by Satan
- Jesus
her freed her from that kingdom
- So
she cannot go back under Satan
- Headship
of husband can only be domestic and not spiritual
All
ministry must be done in the type of Love Jesus has
- We
are His representatives on earth
- We
must show the character of God in all we do (His type of Love)
- We
must do all for His Kingdom
- We
must do all that is best for the person being ministered too
- Love
is the basis of all service to God and others as it is the basis of all
of
God's service to us
- To
others in The Body
- To
those outside The Body
- To
your spouse (each serve each other)
- Both
have The Love of God in them
- They
are both Christians led by The Holy Spirit
- Must
express the fruit of The Spirit of which Love is the first one
The
purpose of evangelism is to restore people to fellowship with God
and The Body
1
John 1:3. And the thing which we have seen and heard we show also to
you, that
you will have communion with us, and our communion is with The Father
and with
his Son Yeshua The Messiah.
The
restoration of fellowship with God is one of the major themes of
The Bible. Evangelism’s sole purpose
is
this.
Evangelism
to build church numbers or to show how spiritual a church or
person is misses the whole reason for it.
The church exists to bring people back to fellowship with God
and The
Body and to help them mature as a follower of Jesus.
Any other reason than these two purposes does
not bring Glory to God but brings it to the church as the purposes are
not
God’s but man’s.
