Authority
and power.
There are two types of
authority:
spiritual and Legal.
Legal
power (Authority)
This is for the purposes
of men and is
the type of authority applying to the Laws of the Land, denomination or
church.
They are subservient to
the law of God
and are for the purposes of law and order in the land, denomination or
church
Spiritual
power.
The Holy Spirt empowers
Christians to
do things for the Kingdom of God (the purposes of Jesus).
The followers of Satan
have things
done for them by demons who let the people believe they are the ones
actually
having the power and authority to do what they command.
Spiritual
Authority
Only
Jesus has this (1pet 2:25) and He has not delegated this authority to
anyone:everyone, including demons must submit to this authority.
In
Ephesians 5 we are told Jesus is the head of The Body (citizens of The
Kingdom) and no one else. So all must do
His Will or be in rebellion. So when a
minister exercises authority it can only be in his own strength as He
is required
to tell you what Jesus desires you to do and not what he or the
denomination or
church body requires you to do.
To
command something implies you have
authority over it or ownership of it. We
do not own anything as Jesus owns everything and as Jesus has not
delegated
spiritual authority to the church, no one has this over another. So anyone claiming to have spiritual
authority is displacing Jesus.
One
cannot assume it has been delegated by
interpreting any Bible verse as giving spiritual authority to man.
Unless Jesus
has actually said it is delegated (as He has with authority over Satan
Mk
16:17-18) then it has not been delegated.
A
minister must always tell you what God
wants you to do. So he is not ordering
you but communicating what God desires you to do. Anything
else and he has displaced Jesus and
become an idol, if you follow him.
There
is a temporary authority given to a
mentor but this is for the purposes of helping the person learn and
mature and
not for control purposes.
Where
denomination and church bodies are
involved then there is authority for the purposes of these legal
entities. But it is only legal authority
as they do not
have a spirit so spiritual authority cannot be a part of any authority
they
delegate.
Jesus
said that leaders are servants as
they do not have authority rule but to serve and are given to the
church to
help it mature as a Christian (Eph 4:11-14) and not to control it.
As The
Holy Spirit is the guide of the
church and not a minister or prophet or other, you need to always seek
what He desires
you to do and not what the minister or denomination says you are to do.
Disobey
The Spirit and you can lose your
salvation. Disobey the minister or
denomination and all they can do is cast you out of the church.
