Are
Christian to fight Satan?
1
Pet 5:8-9 Be alert, be reflective,
because your enemy Satan roars like a lion and is walking and seeking
whom he
may devour. Stand against him, therefore, being firm in your faith, and
know
also that sufferings come against your brethren who are in the world.
This
was written
by the apostle Peter to the church in general and states that Satan was
out to
destroy anyone he could: Christian or
non-Christian. And they were to fight
him (withstand or resist him.) You must
attack a person to remove them and Peter is not talking about standing
there
and being continually attacked and defending these attacks. That would make a mockery of the delegation
we have in Mark 16:17-18 to cast out (remove) Satan.
Peter
is
really stating that we need to remove
Satan so that he does not attack us. He
also
states that there is nothing special about being attacked by Satan as
it
happens to everyone throughout the world.
So unless you learn to remove Satan he will attack you in the
belief you
will not resist him and not attack back.
So that your Christian life will be miserable trying to resist
the
attacks of Satan without removing him and stopping the attacks.
The
reason so
many Christians are damaged and need deliverance is because they do not
believe
Satan can cause Christians problems once they are saved.
But Peter says this is a lie and that they
will be the major targets of the attacks of Satan.
