In every case of a person being blind to the truth there are basic elements which can be used as guide in most cases of praying for people:

A demon in charge planning and directing the situation

Demons promoting the sin or error

Demons blinding the person to the truths that will set them free of this deception

You will need to bind the demons involved in the attack on the person. If they attack you then you cast them to the abyss in Jesus Name.

God will promote a way for the person to see the truths that would set them free.

The Holy Spirit will give the person understanding of the truths they need to know.

You need to listen to The Holy Spirit’s guidance and be available for Him to use you as He needs too.

It could also be worthwhile praying the prayers in "Using the soul" to pray things for people that do not need their consent.

Children can be obnoxious at times. Sometimes it is their sinful nature (wilful rebellion). Other times demons stir them up or use past hurts as access points to attack you and torment you and them. Other times it is a cry of pain to get your attention, as children need your love to comfort them, obtain self-esteem and feel secure. You will need to ask The Holy Spirit which it is and what to do about it.

If you are their parent or have legal responsibility for them you can in the authority of Jesus delegated to you, remove demons oppressing the child.

The following steps are suggested for Christian children. If the child is not a Christian you are probably limited to steps 1,2 and 3.

Ask The Holy Spirit to help you examine the circumstances to see if you have done anything to stir them up and cause them to rebel. If so ask God’s forgiveness and their forgiveness. If not try and determine why the child is upset or rebellious then do the next 6 steps.

In Jesus Name bind the spirits attacking them and forbid them from using or abusing the child in any way and from causing the child any more distress. This includes demons both inside and outside of the child.

Then use the Five Steps is they are a Christian

If the child is old enough to understand ask them to confess to God that they have done wrong and to repent of their actions. Remember that shame, guilt and condemnation were dealt with at Calvary so don’t place any of these on them. They should feel conviction themselves from the The Holy Spirit. Remind them that all guilt, shame condemnation and spiritual judgment was dealt with at Calvary so that any of these they feel needs to be cast into he Abyss in Jesus’ Name. You should also ask them to forgive the people who hurt them including you.

Then in the authority of Jesus that has been delegated to you send these spirits to the abyss. Forbid them in Jesus Name from sending other spirits back to attack your children.

In Jesus Name command healing of any hurts, memories or emotional pain that the demons are using to gain legal access to the child.

Ask The Holy Spirit to fill them and take the place of the demons that have left and to teach your children the correct attitudes and way of thinking.

If the child is old enough to make a decision for Jesus then you can only do the five steps if they agree to do so, otherwise you are going against their free will and it is a form of control (witchcraft). So your first priority is to ensure they know what a Christian is so they can decide for or against Jesus.

According to The Bible the rod of correction is used to deal with wilful rebellion (Prov. 13:24). But it must be done out of love for them as guided by The Holy Spirit. Punishment of a child or in fact anyone should be out of love for them as guided by The Holy Spirit. To punish other than in love is to be a hypocrite as you are a Christian whose motive for everything is suppose to be God’s Love in them.

If you do not correct them then they will suffer the ravages of their actions (Gal 6:7,8) and reap the spiritual consequences of what they have sown. Correction is done in love with objective of turning them from worse things that could destroy them physically and spiritually. God’s punishment serves the same purpose – designed to make us change our ways towards what is good and beneficial to us. They are a sign of His love as should be our correction of our children be a sign of our love to them.

One thing a parent needs to consider is if they have a hurt or a sin that affects them and that stops the child from feeling secure or loved by them. Often a Child is emotionally damaged because one or both of the parents are damaged and cannot relate to or love the child as they should. This is why it is so important for parents to be delivered of all Satan has placed on them. This deliverance will also help their relationship with each other as a married couple. You can see why Satan hates the benefits of deliverance as many families would be normal that are now in a spiritual mess.

The first comment to make is that people have free will so prayers like "Lord make them believe" or "Lord save them" won’t be answered as it is a form of mind control and mind control is witchcraft. Satan has managed to create a way of thinking in these unsaved people that either rejects Jesus and salvation or hides them from knowing or understanding why they need Jesus. So firstly it helps to determine why they are so resistant to Jesus. Are they ignorant of Whom He is or what He offers them? Do they understand what He offers them? This will enable us to determine the best way to pray for them.

If a child or person is below the age of reason mentally (not just in physical years) you can cast out any demons in them if you are a Christian. If the child or person is over the age of reason then demons can be bound but the child or person has to make a decision for Jesus before the demons can be cast out from inside them. The age of reason is defined as the age that a person can know right from wrong.

You can command any demons that came in without the person’s permission to go in Jesus’ Name and to take with them all they have placed on the person as they had no right to enter and place these things there. Command healing in Jesus’ Name and ask for filling of The Holy Spirit to replace the demons that have left. Remember the god of this world blinds people to Jesus so he needs to be bound as well.

It is The Fat her that gives a person an understanding of who Jesus is and draws them to Jesus. The Holy Spirit will tell you what any problems are on behalf of The Father so you an ask The Holy Spirit what to do to help these people become followers of Jesus.

The first reason is perhaps a summary of all the others and that is that Satan has managed to blind people in some way to the Truth about Whom Jesus is and what He offers them.

"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Satan knows the truth will set them free so has to somehow get them not to see it. Jn 8:32 states:

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

So the first command is to bind the demons in Jesus’ Name that are blocking these people from seeing the Truths of salvation, understanding their need for Jesus as well as hearing and understanding The Holy Spirit explaining to them their need of Jesus.

Influences around them have guided them to this decision to ignore Jesus and it may be necessary to pray against these influences (and bind the demons behind them).

People may have sins they enjoy and don’t want to give up to follow Jesus as they want to indulge in these sins. Ask The Father to remove the pleasure they have from the sins or the circumstances that give them pleasure as well as binding any demons that give them the pleasure that they desire more than Jesus.

They may be too comfortable to change their way of life, in which case, ask God to remove their comfortableness. This will happen to many when the judgment really starts on the world and perhaps they will turn to Jesus when their security is removed.

When people suffer loss, either personal or financial, demons are very active trying to use these events to gain control of the person or to aggravate the pain of the loss if they cannot gain control. So spiritual warfare is necessary to protect the person from Satan and to enable the people to see and understand what Jesus offers them or wants them to learn or understand.

There may be anger at God for real or imagined hurts. The demon(s) causing the blindness that prevents the person from seeing God’s Love and Purposes in what has happened, need to be bound in Jesus’ Name.

People may have hurts that resulted in low self-esteem that is making them think they are not good enough to be saved or that God cannot love them. The demons promoting this need to be bound so that the person can see that God Loves them as they are and not as they think they should be.

They may have trusted salvation and rejected it and cannot come back again to salvation. If this is so prayers for their salvation may be futile.

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

I came across a person who had committed the unpardonable sin and could not repent no matter how hard he tried. Even with tears in his eyes he could not repent and was like a revolving door for demons to manifest through and speak through him at will. I tried to do deliverance but Jesus said not to. Satan had been correct in saying that this person could not be saved.

Whoever says you cannot lose your salvation needs to see someone like this who knows what is to repent and be saved but gave in to Satan and preferred the things of evil to those of God and lost their salvation. There is also the example in the letter to the church of Sardis where the threat is to blot out of the Book of Life the names of people who are saved but are disobedient Rev 3:5).

You do not lose your salvation by sinning because of hurts and weaknesses and repenting as you do not want to hurt Jesus and His Love for you but by desiring sin and not repenting till you reach the stage you cannot repent. Jesus will tell you not to pray for these people as it is a waste of time. All you can do is to love them until they die and go to hell for eternity.

The final reason people do not follow Jesus is that they just do not care about salvation, seeing no need for it. The demons need to be bound so that the person can see their need of Salvation and make a decision for or against Jesus.

It is important that areas of demonic activity you pray against in regard others is firstly dealt with in your own life. If you know about these areas and don’t deal with them but pray for another to deal with them you are a hypocrite and God will not hear your prayers and you will achieve nothing but allow demons more right to attack you.

The Promise for a Christian who is married to non-Christian is that, if they live the life of a Christian as God wants them to, it may result in the spouse seeing Jesus is worth following and result in the salvation of their spouse.
(1 Peter 3:1-6).

Each day I pray something like this before I consider specific prayers for other:

Attacking anything I, my family, friends or relatives are stewards over, or are using for The Kingdom of God or hold in reserve to use for The Kingdom of God.

Blocking any of us from hearing and understanding what The Father, Jesus or The Holy Spirit wants us to hear and/or understand

Attacking any of us either directly or indirectly using animate or inanimate objects

In Jesus’ Name I command any demon attacking us to go to the abyss the moment they start to attack us along with all other demons involved in any way in the attack.

Thank you Jesus for Calvary, The Holy Spirit, Your delegated Authority and Your Love

Note: Sin should not need to be deal with here because it should be dealt with as it arises during the day but if you are reminded of something then deal with it before you go to sleep. Spouses should ensure there is nothing wrong between them before they go to sleep.

The Apostle Paul never prayed for physical prosperity or the needs of himself or others. He assumed God would provide them out of His Love for them and himself (Mat 6:33). He thanked God for the spiritual progress, spiritual understanding, gifts and thankfulness to God of believers, and prayed these would increase even more in them.

We are commanded to pray for leaders so that we can live peaceable lives, but we are not told what to pray. Therefore, we will need to be led by The Holy Spirit on what exactly to pray.

We are told to pray for labourers for the harvest (which implies we are to be one of those before we can do that and that we have on our heart the same thing as Jesus does for the world otherwise this type of prayer may be hypocrisy and God will not hear it).

It is no use praying for others to be labourers unless you are one or a prayer warrior whose ministry is to warfare for others to free them so they can be labourers.

We are told by Jesus to pray for our enemies as they too have needs. They need Jesus, His Salvation and His healing as well as to be appreciated for who they are and often these areas of lack make them the way they are and influence the way they relate to you and others.

We have the example of Paul who is recorded asking for prayer rarely but prayed more often for the spiritual development and growth of other Christians and that the unsaved would know Jesus (an example being his prayer for Israel).

Prayer should include Praise (declaring the greatness of God), Adoration (telling God how beautiful He is) and Worship (declaring that God is worthy of our submission).

Your daily prayers should also include the unsaved and whomever God places on your heart and, like all other prayer, these should be led by The Holy Spirit.

So called ‘soul prayers’ (asking God to make a person behave in a certain way) is the equivalent of witchcraft and does more harm than good. This is why you need to ask The Holy Spirit how to pray for the person as He will show you their need and not what you think it is or what you want it to be for them.

If praying for your child declare they are yours and belong to God’s Kingdom and tell the demons to leave in Jesus name. If they are old enough to repent and understand what they are doing wrong then they must do that first (you need to follow the framework of the Five Steps).

If praying for spouse, who is not a Christian, you can only ask for The Holy Spirit to convict them and give them understanding of their need for Jesus as well as show the reality of Jesus in your life. Then you must live as follower of Jesus to show them it is worth living as one.

For Christians who are unrepented you can ask The Holy Spirit to show them their sin and if they still do not repent then they are handed over to Satan to chasten in the hope they will repent. If in a church you need to approach two elders to talk to them and see if they will repent before they are handed over to Satan.
