The following prayers are designed to be said by a person wanting the freedom Jesus offers and are really self-deliverance prayers. I use this handout when a person wants personal deliverance as well as I or the person do not have much time available to do the deliverance immediately. It also allows a person to go home and do their own deliverance in the privacy of their own house as some are embarrassed to do this publicly.
Jesus must be your Lord before He can be your Saviour and Deliverer. He should be lord, not because He has to be but because you love Him and are grateful for what he has done for you at Calvary. He has set you free from the kingdom of Satan and given you eternal life, a relationship with Him and The Father as well as The Holy Spirit to live in you to mark you as His as well as to guide you to live as He requires you too and will remove from you all the harm that Satan did to you.
Remember, Jesus can only protect that which in your heart is given unconditionally to Him. When you unconditionally give an area of your life to Jesus, Satan has no right to it any more and must leave it when told to do so. Hence, we are “delivered” in that area. The following prayers will guide you in giving areas of your life to Jesus so that He can be Lord of them. Remember, Lordship is the attitude of giving everything in your life over to Jesus to control, and when we fail His requirements, we then use His methods of dealing with our failure to restore the relationship (the framework of The Five Steps mentioned later).
The Actual Prayers of Deliverance
In Jesus’ Name I forbid any demon from manifesting in any way as I pray, or from blocking me from hearing The Holy Spirit or the Truths Jesus wants me to hear and understand and I command any demons doing this to go to the abyss in Jesus Name.
The Prayer of Repentance
Father, I approach You through the sacrifice of the Blood of Jesus shed at Calvary, the only sacrifice sufficient to meet the requirements of Your judgment and restore me to a relationship with you, The Holy Spirit and Jesus.
I forgive the offences against me by all who have offended me including myself so that You, Father, can forgive me all my offences against You. I also repent of any bitterness, root of bitterness as well as any wrong attitudes in me I have towards others. Lord help me in these, please.
Jesus, I ask You to be Lord of my life as I want to follow You and do what You want me to do.
I give You all I am as well as every area of my life whether or not they are known to me so that You can be Lord of them
I reject all that Satan has offered me or has given me. If I have sinned and given anything to him or taken from him anything, I repent and am sorry for it, and now give these to you Lord and I give You all these areas to be Lord over and repent of the wrong i did in these areas.
I declare every curse over me was broken at Calvary so any demons enforcing them are to go immediately in Jesus Name. I reject everything that others did over me and break any arrangements, contracts or similar they have made over me and in Jesus Name command the demons enforcing them to go to the abyss and remove all they placed on or in me.
I ask You, Holy Spirit, to guide me and empower me to live as a follower of Jesus and as a citizen of The Kingdom of The Father.
I am sorry for what I have done wrong in the past and will try to turn my back on all that is not in keeping with the actions belonging to a citizen of Your Kingdom. Help me to change my ways so that I can be become a good citizen of Your Kingdom. I understand that I will fail You at times but as long as I wholeheartedly try to do Your will, I will never lose my citizenship in the Kingdom of The Father or my salvation.
I understand there is no more shame, condemnation or guilt because Jesus bore all my sin when He died at Calvary and that all the sin I do is already forgiven at Calvary and forgotten (remitted) by God.
I now declare!
Satan!
Anything you have put on me without my consent I command you in Jesus’ Name to remove, along with all the resultant consequences, whatever they may be.
Satan, you no longer have a right to work in these areas as I have given them to Jesus, so in Jesus’ Name go the the abyss
In Jesus’ Name I command complete healing and restoration of all the damage Satan did to me as well as and integration of every part of my being and personality .
I ask You Jesus to fill me afresh by The Holy Spirit and me anoint as You think I need to be to serve you.
Thank You, Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
Amen.
When Tempted
Satan cannot make you do anything you do not agree to do. He has to deceive you into agreeing with what he wants you to do. So, the first line of defence is your rejecting what he offers. When you are attacked ask The Holy Spirit if you are being attacked from within you or outside of you. It attacked from within you then deliverance is needed. If attacked from outside of you then cast it out in Jesus Name to the abyss.
When you are tempted and feel you need deliverance use the following framework (The Five Steps to freedom):
As it is a battle of kings you address the king (Satan).
Give the sin, area of moral weakness, circumstance, problem, event or situation to Jesus to be lord of,
Forgive all who have offended you including yourself, repent of bitterness and root of bitterness any wrong emotions or attitudes in you towards others whether you know of them or not as well as any sins you are bringing to Jesus,
Command Satan to go in Jesus’ Name as he no longer has a right to these areas as they now belong to Jesus,
In Jesus Name command healing and restoration of all the damage Satan did to you,
Ask Jesus to send The Holy Spirit to fill you replacing all the demons that have left to and anoint you as necessary to serve Jesus.
If there is no need for deliverance then tell any demon attacking you that you belong to Jesus and to go to the abyss in Jesus’ Name.
Whenever I get a wrong thought (of pride or otherwise), sensation, feeling or emotion, I command the demons behind it to leave and go to the abyss in Jesus’ Name.
In summary:
If the thought is from God, you obey it.
If the thought is from you ensure it is given to God or dealt with as He tells you to.
If the thought is from Satan, reject it after determining if deliverance is needed (from a demon inside of you) or just casting out of the demon is required (in respect of a demon outside of you) then do what you need to cast Him to the Abyss in Jesus Name.
b>How to Hear God and His requirements:
Through what He says in His Bible (where possible, everything must be taken back to the principles in God’s Bible.
Godly counsel (which includes Holy Ghost-inspired prophecy.)
Current circumstances (if the door is not open to do the action, don’t push it open. Let God open it).
Answered prayer (but be careful as the devil also answers prayer and may provide his answer first in order to try to replace God’s.)
The witness of peace in your spirit over the decision.
The last is the most important for those who are citizens of The Kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit will contend with your spirit and will not give you peace while you are being disobedient or planning to be disobedient.
Dreams and visions
Audible speech by Jesus or The Holy Spirit.
Thoughts placed in our mind
God-inspired prophecy
a personal visit by Jesus or an angel of His.
All of the above ways are still subject to the witness of peace in your heart as to the event and as to what you asked or what was advised to you. It is very important to discern the spirit behind these as Satan can appear as an angel of God and try to mislead you. Satan was once an angel so knows how to behave and look like one. When he tries to mislead you, there will be fear and not peace in what you see or hear.
There is a warning about the points in both sections - If you desire something excessively, Satan can give you an answer in one of these ways. Because you desire it so much, you cannot hear God’s Spirit and you will have peace when you should not. To avoid this, you must not covet something so that it becomes an idol as then Satan can mislead you concerning it.
How to keep your freedom in Jesus
Deliverance is based on Jesus having been given Lordship of your life. Therefore, Satan no longer has the right to rule in any area(s) given to Jesus. Anything over which Jesus is not Lord, Satan can use or attack at his pleasure (but even then Jesus limits the attack so that you are not destroyed). Anything over which Jesus is Lord, Satan can only attack with the permission of Jesus. So ensure Jesus is Lord of every area of your life.
Spending Time with God Each Day
To get to know someone you must spend time with them or study about them. The following suggestions are provided to help you in this. These are best done early each day. Jesus found it necessary to meet with His Father first thing in the morning (Mark 1:35) how much more so should we. A short time of prayer and Bible reading is recommended. It is also recommended to meditate on the Bible selection read during the day as you travel or walk about.
Meditation is looking at a different facets of passage from your daily Bible reading or other Biblical source with a view to applying it to your life. You will grow as you meditate on scripture and not just by reading it. Reading it just gives you head knowledge. Meditation makes it a part of your life as does memorizing scripture to meditate on each day.
Each day greet The Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit as soon as you wake and commit the day to them. The last thing you should do at night is say ‘good night’ to them and commit yourself to their care.
I personally Thank The Father for His angels that minister to me and protect me, The Holy Spirit for His guidance and protection of my mind and Jesus for being near me so Satan will not come near me.
The Truths of Jesus
You need to know the Truths Jesus taught so you can fight the lies of Satan. In the same way, you also need to know God’s will for you so Satan cannot distract you from it. Finally, you need to know God’s Love for you, His complete control of your circumstances, His promises of protection and provision for you to be able to trust Him in the trials that will come.
This means you need to study the Bible and meditate on it so that you can know about Jesus and apply it to your life serving Jesus as He wants you too.
Guilt, Shame and Condemnation
Satan will try to place these on you to keep you in bondage to him, but the promise of Jesus is that these were all dealt with at Calvary. No longer are we under spiritual guilt, condemnation or judgment over our sins. Colossians 2:13-16 states our present situation. We may still have to work through the physical consequences of our sin but Jesus will help us in this.
There is no more guilt, condemnation, or shame as a result of Calvary. So when you sin, any of these you feel after you repent of the sin is coming from demons which should be sent to the abyss in Jesus Name. Jesus expects you to try and defeat temptation, but He knows we are not perfect and may fail from time to time. All He asks is that you repent and continue to try and make Him Lord of your life and that you keep trying not to sin.
Citizen of The Father’s Kingdom
You are a citizen of the Father’s Kingdom with Jesus as your Lord. You need to learn your relationships, rights, rewards and responsibilities so you can function effectively as a citizen of this Kingdom. These are found in the Bible as interpreted by The Holy Spirit so you need to know your Bible as well as how to hear The Holy Spirit so you can hear his personal teaching to you.
You are the representative of this Kingdom on earth and you need to know what to do as its representative. You become a faithful servant, by knowing His will and then doing it.
Each day, as you walk about, talk to The Holy Spirit. You are in a relationship with Him, and since He is a person, you can develop your relationship through talking to Him and discussing things with Him. He promises to guide you into all Truth so when you have a problem, talk it over with Him. Remember also to listen to Him as it is a dialogue not a monologue.
Betrothed to Jesus
You also have a special relationship with Jesus as His betrothed and will marry him at the marriage feast of The Lamb. Even though it is the church that is spoken of in this Jesus also deals with us individually as He is a Personal God. So you must learn to live in this relationship of being betrothed to Jesus in preparation for eternity and heaven.
Encourage one another and help one another
In all you do show God’s Love, then your obedience will be complete. If we fail, remember all guilt, shame, and condemnation were dealt with at Calvary, so if you feel any of these emotions are being placed there by demon(s) tell the offending demon(s) to go in Jesus’ Name to the abyss.
God requires you to wholeheartedly try and obey Him. He knows we are imperfect and will fail, but sin, shame, condemnation and judgment were dealt with at Calvary so when we fall (sin) we claim this and pick ourselves up and keep going (Luke 9:62) We look not at our failings but at the hope we have in Him - the Author and Finisher of our faith.
How to Hear The Holy Spirit
Preparation
Lord, I want to hear The Holy Spirit so I can do Your Will and be guided as to how to be Your follower. I give this desire to You and am sorry for anything I have done wrong in this area.
In Jesus’ Name I command any demons that are blocking me from hearing the Truths that The Holy Spirit Jesus wants me to hear and understand to go immediately to the abyss. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to take their place.
Lord, I give You my gifts and abilities to use as You will, any ministry you give or have given me as well as all my purposes and plans. I am sorry for the things I have done wrong with them, as I want to use them as You want me to.
How You Hear Him
Unless The Holy Spirit or Satan actually appear to you, they can only talk to you in your mind through speech, thoughts or emotions. When they are speaking it is as if they are your own thoughts or that you are talking to yourself. People mistake this for a disorder when demons are there speaking audibly in your mind, as if there are apparently two personalities in them. Also when The Holy Spirit is speaking, they usually think it is their own thoughts.
If it is not our thoughts then it is one or the other, either The Holy Spirit or Satan. You can actually hold a conversation with the Holy Spirit and ask Him questions and He will answer as it is appropriate.
You will need to silence your mind. You may have trouble hearing Him (The Holy Spirit) especially if you are in a place full of distractions or in a place where Satan rules. Remember He, the Holy Spirit, has a still, small (quiet) voice.
He will place an impression, picture, or thought in your mind, give you an emotion, or even speak to you in an audible voice. You will know it is from Him as it will not cause you to fear. He may speak in other ways than these, but these are the normal ways. You may feel a check in your spirit which is a ‘no’. If He does not reply it is also a ‘no’, so you just sit and wait till He releases you to do something.
The answer He gives will line up with The Bible, and you will have peace in your heart over it. Remember, God will not contradict His Word.
Remember that Satan will try and cause you doubt about what you are hearing then cause you to reason to say it is wrong or impossible so that you are not hearing correctly. Or at times he will block you hearing The Holy Spirit so you need to cast him out and stop him doing this these and ask The Holy Spirit again what you wanted to know.
If you do not hear from The Holy Spirit, ask the following:
Are you in a place in which Satan rules so that the spiritual atmosphere is blocking The Holy Spirit?
Are you in sin and do you need to deal with it using the five points?
Are you to ask this particular question of The Holy Spirit?
If you do not get an answer, it may not be the time to ask
It may not be the time to receive the answer
It may not be an appropriate question to ask
Are you to command demons that are blocking you from hearing the Holy Spirit to leave in Jesus’ Name?
Do you really want to hear the answer
Are you seriously listening or just going through the motions of listening
The Holy Spirit is your Companion in this life, so it is necessary to be in continual communication with Him as He helps you to navigate the traps of Satan and to do the Will of God.
The Holy Spirit and the Five Steps
How does hearing The Holy Spirit and the “five steps” fit together?
Whenever you have a problem, the first thing you should ask if is the Bible has the solution to it.
If the Bible is silent then ask the Holy Spirit what to do.
Is it a temptation?
If it is not, see if the “Guidelines to Knowing God’s Will” will help. If this does not help either, ask The Holy Spirit what to do.
If it is temptation, then ask Holy Spirit if it is an area you need deliverance from.
If you do not need deliverance then tell the demons to go to the abyss in Jesus’ Name.
If you need deliverance then use the “Five Steps to Victory.”
How to be led by The Holy Spirit
Unless it is an emergency you are trained to react in whenever anything happens do not react. Stop and ask Holy Spirit what to do.
Get into the habit of asking Him about things and problems and listening to His advice before you comment on anything. He promises to guide you into all truth and not just spiritual truth. Learn to listen as you do your daily chores and activities and He will speak to you about things you need to know. Always walk around with one ear listening to The Holy Spirit.
Seek to be always in a right relationship with Jesus so you do not block hearing The Holy Spirit.
Summary of the attitudes you should have as a Christian
God is Love so this Love needs to be in all we do if we are to be like Him. It is one of the two commandments He left with us and living in love and obedience shows we belong to Him. John 13:34.35 says
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
We should also show the results of this type of love in our life. Gal 5:22,23 says:
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Note that all these fruit flow from God’s Love in you.
Our objective should also be to seek the furtherance of His Kingdom and to be in a correct (righteous) relationship with Him (Mat 6:32-34). As we do this we obey Jesus and do not need to worry about the future as he promises to provide all we need to do His work and survive. So we are not to worry as that says Jesus will not or cannot do what He has said in Mat 6:32-34 and calls Him a liar. You see, as we obey Him in all we do we walk in the plan He has for us He and takes care of all things necessary for us living and for growing into His image so He can use as He wants to use us as well as fulfilling any prophecy we have been given for our life as we are where we should be for it to be fulfilled.
We should offer ourselves to Jesus as a living sacrifice, being willing to die to (remove) all that is not necessary in our lives. This allows Him to refine us to be more like Him and grow as a follower of Him (Rom 12:1-3). We should also seek the things of Jesus as they are of far more worth and value than the things of earth that Satan offers you (Col 3:1-3).
In doing this we must believe it is worth all the effort, that God will reward you at the end of a trial and then in heaven. In fact one of the requirements of faith is to believe he will reward you (Heb 11:6).
As you are led by The Holy Spirit in all things you will walk in obedience as an adopted child of The Father. Both are necessary to your lifestyle as a Christian and to have all the benefits Jesus had when He walked on earth as a ‘son of God’.
Remember you are never given more than you can handle (1 Cor 10:13).
God never asks you to do anything He has not prepared you for and will help you go through any trial He gives you and to learn the lessons He wants you to learn through that trial. If he did not do this He would not be a God of Love. If you take the first step in the trial Jesus will help you with the rest of the walk in the trial.
I remind you of the Five Steps to help you fight the devil and also that Jesus said He will never leave you or forsake you so if He seems far away you can guess who moved.
Phi 4:6-8 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things.
1 Pet 5:7 Cast all your worries, anxieties and burdens on Jesus for He cares for you because He loves you
God’s Plan for your life is perfect
God has a perfect plan for your life. All you have to do is be obedient in all He asks you to do and you will walk in the centre of this plan. Mat 6:33 and Rom 8:28 will apply to all you do.
Each day pray as follows
In Jesus’ Name I forbid any spirit of darkness, who has no right to from attacking or using in any way, myself, my family, my friends, people I am helping or have helped or anything of which we are stewards of or are using for The Kingdom and In Jesus Name I forbid any demon from using anyone to attack me or my family.
In Jesus’ Name I command any demons that are blocking any of us from hearing the Truths The Holy Spirit or Jesus wants us to hear and understand, to go immediately to the abyss. I ask You, Holy Spirit, to take their place.
Lord, help me to be thankful, appreciative, and content today in all that happens, to love and appreciate others as You do and to show me where I can serve You as You want me to.
Conclusion
The Christian life is a decision you make. If you seek to live it as you should, Jesus will give you all the help He can. If you are only half-hearted then you will be at the mercy of Satan in the areas you have not Given to Jesus.
It is solely your responsibility as it is solely you who decides to accept Satan’s suggestions and sin or accept God’s suggestions to resist the sin and grow in His love and Grace.

Remember, The Holy Spirit is your teacher (although He will also use godly people at times) so you should learn to listen to Him and to learn from Him as He is always there to help and teach you what you need to know at that moment of time and has been given by Jesus to guide, direct and mature you into the image of God. But the only person who can do your side of this partnership with God is you.
