Medals, scapulas, clothing, amulets and charms etc.
These are usually blest to give them supposed supernatural power and are worn to protect you or give you good luck.  They really are of no use as Jesus determines how you are protected and The Father in heaven how you prosper and these are based on how you live (Gal 6:7-8, you reap what you sow!)
God determines what is going to happen to  you and blest Medals, scapulars, clothing, amulets and charms etc., really do nothing but line the purses of the vendors of these things.
Sometimes they may be used to trigger faith but that is all they are good for and more often than not lead to idolatry so their usage is a dangerous practice.
Meditation
How many Christians meditate once a day.  Satan knows the value of meditation which is why he has eastern meditation practices be an important part of their religions and have them focus on self awareness and not on God.
Christian meditation is different to eastern meditation as it focus on God and His things and not on self awareness.
Christian meditation is looking at different facets of scripture or God’s principles with a view to applying them to your life.  A Christian should be taking everything to God and examining it in the light of His Bible and its principles so in a sense all day should be a focusing in some way on God and His Things (2 Cor 10:5).
There is nothing wrong with meditation if it is God focused.  If it is on your problems or other things it may take your focus off God.
Remember that meditation is just a way of thinking so your thinking habits need to be controlled so you will meditate on what God wants and deal with other thoughts appropriately as the Spirit directs.

Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Miracles
Some ministers and people say that miracles are not for today.
Miracles were designed to show the superiority of Jesus over Satan; and draw people away from Satan to Jesus, through demonstrating the authority and power of The Kingdom of God!  They are a primary weapon in evangelism!
If you do not use miracles to show Jesus is superior to Satan and his kingdom how will you show people that Jesus is more worthy than Satan to follow as Lord.
Christians are to demonstrate the superiority of Jesus over Satan and if they do not do this who will?  And how will they draw people away from Satan to Jesus.

1Co 2:4–25  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Many people are drawn to the new age and other religions or cults because the church turned its back on miracles and had nothing to show people that made it worthwhile to follow Jesus as without the demonstration of His authority He is no different to any other god and these people have found a more relevant religious experince inthe new age or other cults and religions they joined.  If the church had any relevancy these people would have joined it.  After all, you join whatever meets your spiritual needs and it is obvious the church is not doing this for many people.
Names of things
There is nothing wrong with using names of people or Saints for school, hospitals, buildings etc.,  It is common practice to name ministries after people or buildings after the names of prominent people.
The problem occurs when the named person is focused on more than Jesus so the Glory for what happens is given to the person whom the building is named after and not Jesus!

Prayer
Do you need to pray? If so, what for?
In Matt 6:32-34 Jesus said not to be concerned about what we needed as He would provide it if we obeyed Him.  He would supply our needs to live and serve Him without our needing to ask Him for anyth9ng.
So it is obvious we do not need to ask for what we need to live and serve Jesus.
He said to concentrate on His Will and His Kingdom’s furtherance.  As He promises to meet our needs all that is left to pray for is His Kingdom and its expansion and work.
He said that He builds His church (Kingdom) so we do not need to pray for that, So it is obvious we do not need to pray for the Kingdom and its needs.
The only things that remain that Jesus told us to pray for is for labourers for The Kingdom harvest and for all leaders.
Why pray then?
Perhaps prayer allows God to do things for us.
God will not go against our free will so when we need something we know perhaps He asks us to pray for it so He can give it without forcing it on us.  Things we need which we do not know about He provides but unlike Satan where we have a choice our consent may be needed at times before He can give us what we desire.  The Spirit prays for us when we do not know what to pray so perhaps this is why He can give us things when we do not know we need as we agree to allow The Spirit to intercede for us so it is as if we ask for these things.
He asks us to pray for something. Our prayer of faith doing this allows Him to answer with what He wants to do.  This will apply to everything not just our needs.
As we do not confess our sins or ask  for our needs all that appears, left are:

Praise
Adoration and
Thanksgiving.

The only other instance of prayer I can think of is to pray something so HE can bring it into fruition without going against our free will.

Prayers for The dead – see dead, Prayers for
Prayer times
Is a Christian to be as legalistic in regard to times of prayer as some other religions are?
Prayer is to be an extension of the love relationship you have with Jesus and The Father!  It is a part of the fellowship we have with them.
Prayer is also an extension of our worship by life which results from doing all to the Glory of God.  So in a sense our life can be a prayer offered to Jesus for His purposes and not just the times we actually ‘pray’ to Him.
Praying in Jesus’ Name

Jesus said “If you ask anything in My Name I will do it”

So when you pray in ‘Jesus’ Name’ you are saying you are praying in accordance with the Will of Jesus.
Unless you know you are praying in accordance with The Will of Jesus and not what you think it is, You have no right to pray ‘in Jesus’ Name’.
Purgatory and indulgences
In view of the remission of sin that occurred at Calvary, purgatory cannot exist as there is no longer punishment for Sin as Jesus took it all on himself at Calvary.

1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

You are judged when you die and either go to heaven or hell (Heb 9:27).  Any indulgences to reduce the time in purgatory is a waste of time as they serve no use whatsoever.
Prosperity theology
This believes God will prosper you materially on this earth, or, that if you give to God He will have to give you back more.  This ignores The Bible as God says He will meet you needs and you will not have to ask for them as long as you are doing his Will.  He will not give you more than you need as that is wasteful and He is an economical God.
To desire more than what He gives you is to say He does not know what you need and that He has made an error.  To desire more wealth and property would mean you are desiring what Satan is offering you as he seeks to draw you away from God.
The good steward only seeks to have what his master entrusts to him as to desire more would show a lack of contentment with what His master has given him.
Jesus said His kingdom was not of this Earth.  Why then do people seek the things of the earth such as wealth, prosperity and riches, which do not belong to the kingdom of God, and through this make friends with the world.
A person who seeks prosperity on earth has missed the whole point of The Kingdom of God, that God’s rewards on earth are spiritual as His Kingdom is in heaven where He gives His rewards.  The rewards of earth are temporary and usually designed by Satan to mislead you.
Seek more than what God wants to give you.  Satan will gladly supply it.
Reason – see compromise
Reformation, The
The reformation restored correct Salvation theology but did not restore The Kingdom of God, miracles or the workings of The Holy Spirit in the church.  It corrected errors in Catholic theology but did not change the denominational system or  promote the demonstration of The Kingdom and the gifts of The Holy Spirit.  This is why reformed churches do not demonstrate, teach or preach The Kingdom or the workings of The Holy Spirit except in a theological way as the practical aspects of these was not part of The reformation.
By this Satan won a partial victory, hiding The kingdom but allowing its theology to be taught.  If The Reformation had been fully correct then the churches would be destroying the works of Satan, casting out demons and restoring people to wholeness, being led by a personal Holy Spirit.  But sadly they are not and accordingly do not do the signs that Jesus said would follow those that believed in who He was as well as His authority on earth (Mark 16:17-18).
Relics
Relics are bits and pieces of Saints or from objects of extreme importance to the to the Catholic or other faith.  They are placed in altars in churches, in ‘holy objects’ or similar.  There is nothing wrong in having a remembrance of a Saint or an event as long as it does not become an Idol and become more important than the activities of Jesus in your life.  Once again it is not the object itself that has anything wrong with it but what is made of it that causes problems.
Relics are not in The Bible and according to how they are used may fail the second test.  It would be difficult to see how a relic would not detract or distract from Jesus .
The danger with relics are that they can become idolatrous because they do not point you to Jesus.
Revival and restoration
Revival is to do with a person, restoration with an environment or culture.  As the people are restored (revived) to what they should be as Christians they will change the environment around them and restore Christianity in the culture around them.
Revival occurs when people humble themselves and get back to what The Bible teaches and not do what the denomination has taught they should be doing.  If denominations were responsible for revival by what they taught they would always be in revival but they are not and many are dying.
When they teach, preach and demonstrate The Kingdom of God and not the denomination then revival will occur and there will be restoration in the land.
It is a sad thing that revival always has to start outside a denomination as the rigidity of the denomination and what it teaches stifles revival and the thinking and teaching outside the denominational processes that need to be there to be able to start any revival.
Ritual
Like everything else there is nothing wrong with ritual in itself.  It is  the symbolism you assign to it or the attributes you declare it has that may cause it to the fail the second test.
Test one.  It is in the Bible?  Yes!  Only in the Old Testament for the purposes of the Temple.  In the New Testament ritual does not occur.
Ritual has to do with activity, not a belief system so unless it is part of worship to someone or something other than Jesus, or its application breaks one of the tests, there can be nothing wrong with it.
There is nothing wrong with ritual, if it focuses you on Jesus.  It is when the ceremony becomes an end in itself to impress people,  or because it has always ‘worked that way before’ so that you are hoping God will answer, that the ritual becomes ungodly and is no longer an act of worship to God.
Ritual also limits God in some way as it is legalistic and inflexible while God is original and not necessarily doing something the same way all the time.
As Worship, should always be out of love for Jesus.  So ritual should never enter into it.  It is when you do not understand your relationship with God, that ritual becomes an alternative form of approaching him.
Ritual usually occurs when you cannot hear The Holy Spirit and His guidance so that you need to substitute something else you can relate to and ritual and reason usually replace The Holy Spirit’s Guidance.
Ritual can also occur where the purpose of the ceremony is not understood so that the actions a done because they have always been done that way and appear to be effective in influencing or ‘controlling’ God.
