A bit of a sleep-in and breakfast at 9.30am - off to a thousand year old temple at 10am for a blessing by the Buddhist monks - very short but very moving - Xiao Qiu watched the monk the whole time as he was chanting and beating the brass drum - she loves music.
We also visited the Chan Clan Temple and Folk Museum which she loved and she met another girl (17 months) aged about the same as her (16 months) called Fei Fei (pet name) - this girl could say hello and bye bye in english so Xiao Qiu has a bit of catching up to do in her English lessons - Geoff and I will start immediately :)
Although she enjoyed all our games with her, as the morning progressed however she got more whingy, so a decision was made to start on the antibiotics when we returned to our room for her afternoon sleep - she is still sleeping and Geoff and I have had a nice quiet room service meal and bottle of wine and now I'm in the business centre and still
she sleeps - she will no doubt wake just in time to dress to go out to dinner!!!
Another highlight of the day (and I'm sure she will hate me publishing this on the internet, especially when I bring it out at her 21st birthday!!) is that after returning from the temple we held her over the toilet and she did a beautiful number 2!!! unfortunately 2 minutes later she did a bit more on the carpet whilst playing but I'm sure that's our fault as we were so excited with how beautifully formed her number 2 was instead of the mush we'd been getting the first two days that we thought she was finished - no problem, it's not our carpet!!!!!
After dinner Mama and Baba decided to risk having a drink in the Lobby Bar with Xiao Qiu in tow – she was in her element – whereas all the other babies had presumably gone off to sleep she performed true to her daily schedule coming alive at night – she danced for the woman playing the grand piano, she let me help her climb up and down stairs lit with fairy lights, she waved at Baba through glass walls, she entertained the waitresses who all think she is so cute and she had her first Baby Cino, sipping the froth from my capacinno. |
