I updated. That'll be 10 Karma, InfidelAvenger.

Tuesday, January 11 2005 - "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing."

Whoa, a month without an update. Not particularly surprising, but still...

Bulk of my time has gone to computer maintenance and tutoring. Due to an arrangement with a colleague of his, my brother bought a new motherboard for me and we installed that, and re-used our parts with his colleague's machine. A little messy on the butchering, and some nasty results afterwards, but now everything is up and running to a satisfactory degree.

As for tutoring, well, that's fun. While I do teach English better than other subjects, I quite enjoy being an ad hoc Literature tutor. Now I just need to get over the irony (and the regret) of me not doing Literature in high school...

In other news, my Call of Duty Weapons Guide version 1.2 is complete, and the first version of Call of Duty: United Offensive's Weapons Guide is underway. Results have long since been released, and naturally I'm not disclosing them anytime soon, apart from a 1200+ on my SAT (okay, so it was half-assed and not anything I'd normally do).

More comprehensive update coming sometime.

Ghost Recon 2 also rocks.

Wednesday, December 8 2004 - "Sic transit gloria."

It's been an eon since my last update.

Reasons are fairly obvious: final exams. A few weeks of examination heaven (or hell, case depending). Those ended back in November, so now we're just waiting for our results on the 13th. After that, we'd either be relaxing on the mother of all holidays, or we'd be pissing ourselves over our disappointing scores.

But of course, I don't celebrate anything, and no rest for the wicked. Recently I've been doing research for my planned book, Stepping Stones, with more details to be released at a later date. For the time being, I'm only consolidating on what I've done so far. The local newspapers have taken the hint too, and they've been chasing me up again for interviews and articles. Had a rather odd experience morning, being woken up by a call from a newspaper and giving an interview while half asleep. Fame does have its implications.

The VCE Achiever Award ceremony was held at Parliament House on November 28th. Congrats to Luke Bo'sher of Melbourne High for his overall win and brand new laptop. As for me, $200 of book vouchers to spend. Whee.

More information on the VCE Achiever Award can be found here. And of course, me in my one-handed photographic glory here.

My university results were mediocre, to say the best, but as the least important subject requiring the most commitment, I'm not completely justified in blaming myself, am I?

Till next time.

Tuesday, September 21 2004 - "I am a loner and a leader, and being good at one makes me better at the other."

First off, I'm still alive and kicking. Unfortunately, my real life situation has substantially deteriorated, combined with final exams in a few weeks. It's certainly not the best of times, and with Japanese classes eating up my holiday, I'm not getting my much-needed respite from it all.

In the meantime, I've finally written up another story. Originally intended for my Philosophy class, I wrote up a poem, the story itself and rushed up a webpage to present something reasonable to the class. It turned out to be overkill, since all I had to do was stand up and say something. The presentation itself got full colors, with the story itself taking its place as a "trivial" matter.

Anyway, enjoy Wanderers. A link to the story can be found through the Stories section, or through the Wanderers page itself.

Friday, August 6 2004 - ""Victims suggest innocence. And innocence, by the inexorable logic that governs all relational terms, suggests guilt."  ~ Susan Sontag

Well, school's in full swing now. Slow start, but things are starting to get hectic. Have to admit, things are starting to become strained, especially with most of the students, and the mid-year results didn't really help in morale.

At least, not for my morale.

In other news, I've got an English creative writing piece next Wednesday, so I'm back in the writing mood. Several more poems are completed, but I'm saving those until I'm done with them. No further progress in Autumn Wind, although I'd love to get back to it ASAP.
