ANT[ICON] LABORATORIES NEWS

01::02::2006

The first ant[ICON] Laboratories output is currently at press. The long sold-out and unavailable 1998 release from obscure, avant-garde extreme metallers Portal  will be re-issued as a 7". We are not taking pre-orders for this release at this time.

We have also uncovered a lost, forgotten gem that will no doubt please fans of progressive/fusion thrash such as Pestilence. Not widely known outside of Eastern Europe, the only album from Russia's Aspid will be issued for the first time on CD by ant[ICON] Labs.

"Extravasation"
was recorded at SNC Studios, Moscow in '92 and saw it's original and only release on vinyl through Ritonis Records in 1993 and distributed in Eastern Europe only. Now a sought after rarity, this long unavailable release has grown to a cult status amongst those in the know. A long list of eloquent, yet truthful words could be used to describe the merits of this album and the virtuosic playing and song craft of its members, but we see no need for this. The music screams for itself and instead we'd simply like to watch this album smash heads - the ultimate reward for our work.

We are currently compiling archive material, in accordance with the band's manager Igor Burlakov. The booklet will contain Aspid's biography and the history of the recording of the album and lyrics (both in English and Russian), newspaper clippings as well as archive and recent photos from personal archives of the band's members. Sound samples will be posted shortly along with production news as soon as they become available.
