Release of Oriana Concert Choir's 'Messiah' Performance on Double CD: Oriana Concert Choir's rendition of Handel's Messiah at Lake Kawana Community Centre last November wowed the capacity audience and received rave reviews. "The choir sang consistently well and no praise is too high for their ability to caputure the spirit of the composer's intentions...their 'Hallelujah Chorus' was profoundly moving...I came away feeling inspired and uplifted by this wonderful music" (Marguerite Webber, November 2008). Accompanied by the exquisite sounds of the Pacific Chamber Players, and complimented by our four talented soloists, Oriana is now able to offer a special double-disk recording of this memorable and moving performance. Saturday 21 November : Oriana will transform The Lake into the Oriana Jazz Lounge for our upcoming Lounge, Swing, Jazz concert. We’ll be joined on stage by a hot jazz band and guest soloist Cassandra Seidemann. You will remember Cassandra for her gorgeous performances in some of our previous classical concerts. Bet you didn’t know she could sing jazz too! The concert is packed with toe-tappers galore including jazz and swing standards such as Birdland, It Don’t Mean a Thing, Fly Me to the Moon, Beyond the Sea and so many more. The Oriana Jazz Lounge will be open for two concerts, a matinee at 2:00pm and an evening show at 7:30pm on November 21st. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, included in your ticket price and there is a licensed bar. Book your tickets early as the best seats will disappear fast and the season is sure to be a sell-out.
