Please note: This is not the Official Registration Form to attend the Congress. It is simply a mailing list created on Yahoo! groups purely for interaction between genuine Zoroastrians working towards the betterment of the Congress and of course interacting with their own kind on things that are significant to them.

STEP 2:

Rules and Regulations.

The 4th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress Mailing List (4wzyc) is a voluntary and private alias. I wish to make it clear to all members that the reason we have formed this Group is to help make the 4thWZYC a grand success and a very happy occasion for all participants. As the name itself shows it is meant for our Zoroastrians ONLY. Please make certain that when you ask your friends /relatives /acquaintances to join, that they are really Mazdayasni Zoroastrians by birth and practise. We do not wish to cause offence to anybody by denying them entry into our Private mailing list, but since the Rules are explicit anyone who does not measure up to its requirements cannot possibly be allowed to join in and if anyone has slipped past inadvertently he or she will need to be removed immediately we are made aware of it. We have heard that Poona needed to be quite strict about that too and they too had laid down their paradigms for participation well in advance and thus saved themselves from undue stress and ill feeling. We want this one to be an equally happy occasion when young Zoroastrians meet each other and exchange views and ideas and make life long friendships. To that end I am sure you all will agree that certain rules must be set and adhered to from the start. So here goes:

  1. As this is a PRIVATE mailing list, The Group Owners reserve the right of entry and/or removal of members, at all times and no dialogue will be entered into regarding that.

  2. If you ask others to join, it is only fair they and you send an email firstly to me at [smileysjm_2000@yahoo.com.au] to say how they got in touch with us and also so that the records can be kept correctly. Too much time is being wasted in finding out if the applicant is a genuine Zoroastrian and how a person has come to know about this group. As I have no facilities for accepting any other kind of membership I am bound by the Rules and Regulations set up before the founding of this Group and have no authority to make changes to the contrary or make special allowances for anybody.

  3. As Yahoo! Groups demands, please keep in mind that this is a discussion forum and so, members are reminded of such things as proper behaviour and language, not that anyone here is ever likely to cross the line of good Zoroastrian manners and conduct! This is not a place for foul language or inappropriate emails to be posted. Any such emails will simply be deleted with no further discussions on the matter. If the person/persons continually become a nuisance to the group, then s/he /they will be removed from it without any further argument.

  4. It is imperative that all who do write in use their real names at least on some part of their posting - so that if someone has a 'special' name for their email address they must sign their posting with their real name. (So you can read me e.g. as Shiraz Mistry in full - in the To/From: column and my first name Shiraz as the Moderator, in spite of my smileysjm username.)

  5. All postings must have a Subject heading. Those that do not will simply be deleted from hereon in. An important reason for having subject headers is to allow new members to read previous articles, known as "threads" on this mailing list, and that will also help keep a historical record per subject matter in the Archives.

  6. A detailed section, whose name is yet to be decided, outlining frequently asked questions (FAQs) is being compiled so that people do not keep asking the same questions and also to assist new members with common questions to the group. All members are able to view previous email correspondence as Archives on this mailing list. New members may turn to it for previously asked questions or to catch up on the history of this site.

  7. More changes to the Rules and Regulations will be made if so required. The above rules are to be followed by ALL members. If you are unsure of any Rules and Regulations, please do not hesitate to contact me via email on smileysjm_2000@yahoo.com.au

Thank you for your time,

Shiraz Mistry.
Moderator.
