WHAT IS A “JOYMASTER”,& WHAT DOES IT DO?
The JOYMASTER is an Adapter that lets you connect a Digital Joysticks or Control pad to your PC’s USB Port. A Joytick like one of these:

This allows you to use Vintage devices like : a SEGA Megadrive Control Pad, or a reliable WICO Joystick to play PC Games or Games using an Emulator. Click Here for a Demonstration Video of SEGA Gamepads connected to a JOYMASTER-2-USB with Fusion Emulator.

It will also let you use your Device for playing all Windows based games that work with USB Joysticks/controllers.

MAC:

It was recently tested on an iMac running OS 10.6.7 and worked well with VICE Emulator.
It is seen by the iMac as a "USB HID Device". (Added 23-6-2011).

You may need to download a System Preferences Panel to check the status of the Buttons.

According to the info, you need an iMac with the following minimum specs: PPC/Intel Mac with OS X 10.4.x

LINUX:

PS3

Tested and working on Sony Play Station 3 ,(PS3) - works perfectly, but usage is limited due to the lack of buttons.

We tried it on Little Big Planet 2 - And it was loads of fun and a bit easier to control using my Quickshot II Joystick. I as a one-off, I am making up a Joystick which has several small buttons added to it, and a modified version of the Joymaster to handle up to 10 buttons, to be compatible with the PS3. I guess you could call it a JOYMASTER-10-USB. So far the prototype works fine.

USB DRIVER: Built into most versions of Windows. So no Driver disc required.
(If you don’t have it, Windows will prompt you to Insert your Windows CD. If you don’t have the original Windows CD, it will automatically go onto the Internet and download it.)

PC-JOY DRIVER: When using a PC Joystick, Windows may automatically find the device, and then install by itself. If you go to CONTROL PANEL and click on GAME CONTROLLERS, and there is no Joystick found, you can simply click on ADD, and then select "2-Axis, 4-Button Joystick". and you will find that the JOYMASTER works fine with this setting because it only uses 2 or 3 buttons anyway.

SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY:
Because the JOYMASTER is seen by Windows as Standard Game Controller, It will work with All programs within Windows that use Joysticks or Control Pads.
For example, you could use a Commodore 64 joystick to play PC games, and you can also use a Commodore 64 Joystick with an Emulator like VICE, CCS64, FRODO.

And it will also work with most other Emulators that use the Windows game controller, like FUSION for SEGA Megadrive, Genesis, Master system.

You can also use it with Atari Emulators, Amstrad Emulators, ZX Spectrum Emulators, etc.

The AVIATOR Flight Controller QS-155 (By QUICKSHOT)
Some models of WICO Joystick have a switch on the base to Select COMMODORE or SEGA. When set to SEGA, 2 Fire buttons will work.

Many Joysticks, Joypads , Flight contollers & steering wheels, made by QUICKSHOT, have a switch on them, that lets you select: COMMODORE, MSX, AMSTRAD, SEGA.
When you select SEGA, you will be able to use 2 different fire buttons. ( eg- one for Shoot and one for Jump.)

Note: "JOYMASTER-3" Models Support Joysticks with 3 separate Fire buttons, But 3 Button Joysticks are very rare.

DIFFERENT MODELS EXPLAINED:

The JOYSTICK PORT on a PC is also often called a MIDI PORT, They are both the same thing.

This port is usually located on the SOUND CARD. Here is a Picture of one :

The Port may also be Yellow in colour.

F.A.Q. - Regarding AUTO-FIRE Compatability:
Q. What if my Joystick/Control pad/Steering wheel has an Auto-Fire speed control?
A. In most cases, it will work fine.

Q. What if my Joystick/Control pad/Steering wheel has an Auto-Fire speed control for each single Fire button?
A. In most cases, two of the buttons will work fine, and the rest will be ignored, so it will behave exactly the same as when you used it with the original Computer/Console that it came from.

DEVICES THAT WON’T WORK:
The only known Joysticks that will not work are:
The MSX Computer Joystick (by Spectravideo.)
The ATARI 7800 Joystick – All movement & Left Fire Button works but Right Fire button is Stuck-on constantly so does not work.
The ATARI JR Joy-pad (with screw in thumb stick) – All movement & Left Fire Button works but Right Fire button is Stuck-on constantly so does not work.

This Device does not support MOUSE or PADDLES or any Analogue devices, (Only Digital Devices are supported).

JOYMASTER-2 SET UP --- STEP BY STEP:

(1) JOYMASTER-2 READY TO BE ATTCHED TO USB PORT.

(2) INSERT THE USB CABLE PLUG INTO YOUR COMPUTERS USB PORT.

(3) JOYSTICK READY TO BE ATTACHED TO THE JOYMASTER-2

(4) D9 JOY CABLE PLUG READY TO BE INSERTED.

(5) JOY CABLE INSERTED INTO THE D9 SOCKET.

YOU ARE NOW READY TO USE THE JOYSTICK WITH EMULATORS OR WINDOWS GAMES.
