The entire 1953 General
Mills Wheaties miniature 1/6 size replica license plates intended for
use on bicycles. They are various sizes and shapes, but all fit in a 5
1/2" x 3 1/8" mailing envelope. The fronts are exact duplicates of the
actual license plates, and the backs are uniformly coated brass coloured
metal. there were four sets of 1953 plates: 1. The 48 plate
Continental United States Set (without Alaska, Hawaii, which were not
yet states, or Washington D.C.); 2. The 10 plate Territories and
Posessions Set (which did include Hawaii, Alaska, and Wash. DC); 3. The
12 plate Canada Set; and 4. The 10 plate Old World and Europe set. The
Washington DC and Maharajah plates were bonus plates that you could only
get in the boxes (on a random basis) or if you would buy certain
combinations of plate sets.
