Jaeger #26 – Psi Force Training Part 1

Marc is having the time of his life, running through basic army training at Fort Ridge. His unique powers enable him to breeze through the exercises and obstacle courses. Unfortunately, he discovers that Sandy Yau is in his group, and she flatly refuses to have anything to do with him, still sore about the fact that he is a vampire (See Jaeger #16). Sandy is having a tough time with some of the exercises, and when another cadet named Sophie makes fun of her clumsiness, she loses her temper with the ex-marine and they get into a fight. Frank puts Sandy and Sophie to work cleaning the latrines out with toothbrushes, and they don’t finish until midnight. On their way back to their barracks, they stumble across the Psionic Sciences Institute director abusing san employee named Borland. Using her ESP, Sandy sees snakes around Director Styner, and they are tearing chunks out of Borland’s aura. Horrified by the psychic vampirism, Sandy searches the base for Marc – and discovers him in Colonel Cassidy’s bed. Meanwhile Director Styner, who as already drained the aura of at least one local prostitute since arriving at the base, visits the Psionic Research Centre to talk to Dr Sturgess, the head researcher. Dr Sturgess tells him that because of Borland’s interference, he only has 5 viable psitropine production units left.
