Jaeger #27 – Psi Force Training Part 2

A pathologist working for the NYPD enlists the help of a young psychometrist to help solve a number of mysterious deaths, however both she and the psyker are assassinated before they can reveal their suspicions. Meanwhile, up at Fort Ridge Sandy manages to convince Mark and Cassidy of what she has seen. Cassidy promises to talk to Styner the next day, but when he does, Styner reduces the powerful psychokinetic to a gibbering wreck. The cadets undergo a psionic augmentation program during which they are injected with a drug called psitropine, designed to enhance their natural psionic abilities. Marc doesn’t feel any different, but Sandy suffers a psychotic reaction and has to be hospitalised. Marc then discovers he can project his anti-psi ability outwards, to disrupt the powers and minds of other psykers. He visits Frank to find out why hasn’t seen him for a while, and finds the Colonel confused and upset. As he returns to his barracks, the same assassin who killed the pathologist tries to execute him. Marc’s unique vampire abilities enable him to regenerate and attack the killer, but the strange soldier manages to teleport out. Marc then thinks that Sandy might be next, and arrives at the infirmary in time to find her being smothered with a pillow.
