      Believing that Marc had willingly joined the Nethermind, the US Army decided that it was time the Hunter was taken care of. A hit was arranged by Dr Martin Browne, also known as "the Net Spider". It was to be carried out by Colonel Frank Cassidy, a powerful psychokinetic. He would have incinerated Marc had not a mysterious woman shown up and shot him in the back. Unfortunately, the mysterious woman turned out to be working for the Nethermind, and introduced Marc to Azharoth. Cassidy recovered from his bullet wounds and escaped.
