Uluru Tapestry in Pandanus

Uluru tapestry in Pandanus 2005
Waterholes on the flanks of Uluru are spectacular. The design for this tiny tapestry is of a cascade of these water worn hollows. It is woven on a nylon warp in Pandanus Spiralus, fine wool and sewing thread. It continues my present work on Australian designs in rusts and earth tones of the Australian outback.

Kata Tjuta - Week 1

Kata Tjuta - Week 1
This recently completed fan shaped tapestry is woven on a seine twine cotton warp in handspun mohair and assorted wool and silk. The design is taken from my photograph of Kata Tjuta as seen from the air on a flight en route to Malaysia. I wove it in a fanshape inspired by the cleared view as seen through windscreen wipers during rain.
