Whilst being far from "alert", I feel that my recollections of the evenings events might be clearer than those of some present. A magnificent bbq was put on by Gregory Peck. Petes consumed half his body weight in red meat alone. TBC put on an IT display of incredible surfing footage that was second to none. The surf industry was definately a numbers game during my tenure, but with road rage, unintentional phone calls to mum and dad, and a captive audience left looking at the projected image of a windows menu for at least half an hour, perhaps the NIG (new industry guy) needs to look for some alternative enhancers. TBC was captured at his best by "scoop" swinging door who kept that damn camera going all evening except for when he caught a quick 40 winks of his own. The doc maintained a low profile but was on the ball enough to draw my attention to the Colonel doing the shuffle out the front door with no fanfare, only to do the double back to the safety of the rear bedroom. Peck who has yet to embrace wireless technology was at the ready on the phone to get us onto the late night ABC quiz. I think he was going to run with "Tom from Tootgarook". What a shame we didn't get through.BBQ scraps were then consumed. I think we went through 8 loaves of bread. One each I believe.So after beer, Irish whiskey, red wine, more beer, huge amounts of quality food, and weathering the storm of an early strapfest, I would say that a most enjoyable evening was enjoyed by most.
