About The World Super League 2006
What is the World Super League?
The World Super League is an international football competition. It was created as means of determining once and for all who is the best football team in the world. Granted, only the top 20 teams are eligible, but that seems only fair as we want to provide a venue for exciting competitive football not boring under 5's soccer using the cloud formation. This way the best teams can come together and face off in a season followed by a final series which will not only prove who is the best team over a period of time, but show their consistency over that period as well.
Why was it created?
Because I wanted to.
Is this a real competition?
If it is not already obvious, it should be qualified that this competition is purely a custom fantasy tournament and in no way relates to real life. All games are played using the Xbox video game system, and a legal copy of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 5. All statistics are tracked through the game.
How do you have the game setup?
I will provide full game settings later. For now I can only say that the game is set to three stars. The group stage is played through a standard league mode. The qualification and final series matches are played using exhibition mode. All non player games are either automatically simulated by the game, or setup with computer players only.
Are all the matches simulated?
The majority of matches are simulated by the game (PES5 on Xbox), however I do control a single team which is randomly chosen after the qualification stage is complete. During the qualification stage however, I do not control a team, and so it is simulated instead. I chose to the this, in order to remove human bias, whether that be for good or for worse. During the rest of the tournament, I do control all match play for a team, but only one team. The standings will show a small 'P' symbol to show which team I control.
