Tina's tres magnifique (The Daily Telegraph) [AUS]
You won't hear it here, but the Aussie expat's tune Aimer jusqu'à l'impossible has been awarded Song of the Year in France, having sold over one million copies since its release.
"I love the fact that people related to the song so much and seeing how the crowds have been reacting at my gigs lately is just amazing," Arena said.

Tina Torn Between Two Teams (The Sun Herald) [AUS]
The singer-songwriter will be watching the match at her home in Paris with French partner Vincent Mancini, eight-month-old son Gabriel and friends. Arena's hit single Aller Plus Haut (I want to go higher) has become the unofficial World Cup song in France because of its use by the national team's main sponsor. But the daughter of Sicilian migrants Joe and Francesca says her Italian roots run deep and the elimination of the Socceroos has left her in a quandary. "It is going to be a hot household on Sunday," she said. "I'm going to keep an open mind."
Arena, 38, who rose to national fame on television show Young Talent Time before becoming one of Australia's most successful female artists, began her love affair with France in the late 1990s. A duet with Latin crooner Marc Anthony on The Mask Of Zorro soundtrack kicked off her French career and Aller Plus Haut followed, selling more than a million copies. Arena's first French album Un Autre Univers (Another Universe) has recently gone platinum in France after two top-five singles and a series of live shows last month.
