Music
October 22nd
I was listening to the introduction for a
new edition (
fan based ) to the Sierra QUEST FOR GLORY series today, and I wanted to know how
the composer ( Derek von Krogh if memory serves ) Got such an amazing sound out
of Synthesised instruments. The answer ? SOUNDFONTS. Amazing little
things. However it's hard to find exactly what you want. And so I'm
going to make my own ( handy being in a family of musicians ). In any
event, I sat down and experimented today in Cubase ( Which I have never used
before, so that too was a nice experience ). And I created a piece which I
like to call 'Act 1' ( For reasons that are obvious to me when I hear it ).
Comments would be greatly appreciated, and you can get it here.
a|A - Act 1 ( 2.47 mb )
Ps - I am well aware of the few mixing troubles in it, and the distortion at
one or two points, I didn't spend hours mixing it, I just wanted to put
something up for you all to hear.
I've been interested in music for as long as I can remember, and thanks to
some friends from my school I started writing electronic music with a program
called buzz in late year 11.
This continued throughout my school career, During this time I got some of my
music played on a local radio station ( 4zzz ), as well as took part in a giant
group collaboration project called UoD ( Universe of Discourse ).
