I found your site after doing a search for Kahls. My great grandfather, Matthias August kahl, was a brother to the Augustus John Kahl born 1879, in your list of family.

I have done a fair bit of research over a few years about the family. I remember having quite a long chat to Leonard Kahl (Edie) quite a few years back. I was wondering how the Kahls fit into your family tree and whether we could exchange some information and photos if yourself or anyone close to the Kahls is interested.

I live near Gosford in NSW. I think my email address is going to change in a week or so and so another address for me is through dbews@valuemowing.com. My mother was Phyllis Kahl, and my grandfather, James William Kahl. James moved from Pink Lily, Rockhampton to Western Australia as a young man.

Hello

I have just been looking on the Internet for references to Kahl's in Queensland and came across your site on the family of August John who was a brother to my grandfather, James William Kahl. Family history is a hobby of mine and I know a lot about the Kahls and have a very interesting set of old photos including a few with August John in them.

James lived in Western Australia and I grew up there but now live in NSW. My information includes material on the ten siblings in his family but not very much about August John and his descendants.

Do you, or anyone you know, have an interest in sharing some Kahl information and/or photos? August John's father, Matthias August came to Queensland from Birkenbringhausen in Germany. His mother, Anne Armstrong, came from Bailieborough in Cavan, Ireland.

I spoke to Leonard once years ago, on the phone but we never had any follow up.
