This one is real simple. With all of the dead 5000s that
are around it should be very easy, and cheap, to
purchase a dead 5000 that still has a working main
board. Then fit the 5000's rear panel and main board to
your 4400.
If you can't find one with a dead HDD and a dead or weak
power board (i.e. good main board) look for one with
only one dead tuner and solder one of your 4400 tuners
onto it. One dead tuner means just that. But two dead
tuners could mean something more serious is wrong with
the main board. Though it's usually just the small 4-pin
IC at the front end of the tuners. |
