The Last Monk

Mostly digital illustration with a little pen and ink thrown in for good measure. This illustration was commissioned to accompany a short SF story (of the same name) by my husband George Ivanoff, to appear in Aurealis. The story was inspired by our recent backpacking holiday to Egypt... St Katherine's Monastary, Mt Sinai... and particularly the Charnel House at the monastary filled with ancient monk's bones.
