Egypt Regency GownI wanted to make a regency gown and when I picked up the burgundy/cream cotton shawl in Egypt (a measly $15AUD), I used it as the colour inspiration for the gown. Again, good old curtain fabric makes an appearance. I had intended to make a regency corset but ran out of time so I'm wearing a push-up bra - it gives a similar effect to the bustline. George happily got to trot out his regency wedding suit again for the event. I presented it in the Historical Parade at 'CostumeCon 20' the International Costumers' Guild 20th Annual Costuming Convention (hosted by the Australian Costumers Guild in Melbourne in 2002 ) and although privately commended by the judges, did not receive an award.
