MAKE  A  PAPER  BLIND

Make a paper blind This is a small drawing but you get the idea.
I have made blinds to fit different sized windows and they look great! You can use beautifully colourful saris or handmade paper glued to make the size you need. White textured paper with black wood top and bottom and black blind cord gives a very Japanese looking blind.

You'll need:
2 pieces of wooden dowel cut to size
4 small brass eye hooks
Length of quite strong paper or material the size of or bigger than the window you are covering.
Blind cord or string

Paint a good multi-purpose glue along the edges of the material or paper, enough to wrap around the dowel sticks. Make sure they're wrapped smoothly and dry before you screw the eye hooks in. Follow the illustration to thread the blind cord. You'll need at least 5 times the length of the blind for the cord.

Experiment with using alternatives like cane or bamboo instead of dowel sticks. Try painting square wooden rods.
