LETTERS to the Editor

Written in The Online Hideout and published in either, or both, The Australian and The Courier Mail sometime in 2002 to 2004.
Strange that many of the abusive callers after the publication of these letters happened to have British accents. To offset the nastiness of these calls were the heartwarming letters we received thanking us for writing to express what many people are feeling about the appalling policies applied by this government.
Keep reading Philip Adams. He says it all.

The voice of The Protest Weakly hasn't stopped protesting - it just shakes with anger at the news every day. The litany of lies and manipulation by a government laughably called democratic. All we can hope is that those of you who voted for this gang are now sorry for your lack of thought especially if it hits your hip pocket!
Others are taking up the cause to maintain our human rights and fight for a just and caring society. Add your voice to the growing numbers at RESIST.com.au

The Sad War
How dare Howard, Bush and Blair express sympathy to the familes of the young men already killed in this pointless war! They are guilty of sending them to their deaths and have their blood, and the blood of others to die yet, on their hands. They should be overcome by guilt and shame. It would be different if their own sons were in this war. Maybe then they wouldn't be playing this as some sort of computer war game complete with propaganda broadcasts. How many deaths will it take for the Australian people to take the power reins from this government?

Propaganda
All round propaganda from both sides in this war. Anyone stupid enough to believe what they see our irresponsible leaders saying needs to open their eyes a bit. Innocent people are dying for the greed of a few men who have no compassion or even a thought for suffering of fellow humans. This is not a winnable war - not by either side.

The Protest Weakly has been marching in anti-war protests and sending regular letters to the biased papers but our hearts are heavy at the thought of all the young lives yet to be lost, whatever country they believe they are fighting for.
