My cultural background is an international blend. I was born in Melbourne while my father was the Dutch Announcer for Radio Australia. He was born and raised in Java, Indonesia. My mother was born and grew up in Tonga, in Ha'apai. As a second generation Australian I think the reason I felt at home in my work for so long is due to my 'multicultural' genes.
I worked as the arts officer for the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland for 8 years. I'd rather be at home among the things I love, making books, drawing, painting and smoking cigarettes. My paints are in that box, many tubes of gouache.
I've lived in or visited every Australian state:. We moved to Sydney when I was very young. and I grew up there. I lived in Perth for a year, in Adelaide for 8 years, then sunny QUEENSLAND where I live happily ever after. In between I have worked in Alice Springs as Artist-in-Schools for the Australia Council.

I still drive a Subaru Liberty GX with an Apple logo on the back. My web pages are made on an Mac and animations are handrawn in Photoshop. I have a CalComp digital sketch pad I intend to make more use of sometime and I am attempting to master Flash.
