I'm gunna name drop like crazy because I can for the first time in my life.

Friday night I went out to the festival with Craig, Dail, Nick and Richard Fiedler. Richard is head of comedy at the ABC but you would remember him from the Doug Anthong All Stars. We met up the in teh Peter Cook bar at the town hall which was surprisingly empty, but that may have been due to the fact that most people were already in seeing shows. A couple of quick drinks there before dropping over the road to see The slightly inaccurate history of Pirates which was fun. A little too much of one note but lots of fun. I quite liked the puppets although my more seasoned colleagues did not. The karaoke at the end was a master stroke.

We had intended to see another show after that but ended up drinking heavily and talking crap (as you do). And here is where things started to get a bit surreal. Our group was joined by Mikey Robbins and Steve Abbot (The Sandman). They were friend of Richard's from way back but it was fun at one point to be taling about the ALP leadership and the players of the ARM and the Monarchists with Mikey and Richard.

A few more drinks and we headed over the road to the Hi Fi Bar. The focus of post show festival. Everyone was there for a big old comedy love fest. I was introduced to Paul McDermot and the Gud boys as a "writer" which is probably pushing what I do a bit but it was nice. Had my photo taken a couple of times with a famour person's arm around me for a change by some official festival photographer type person. The Hi Fi Bar was fucking packed. Absolutely creaking at the seams and I was sitting at the cool kids table. This may never happen again and I'm trying not to be star struck, but right now I'm gunna revel in it and name drop like crazy for a week.

I think I need to see some more shows though. Schmoozing is fun but so are the shows.
