"Turns out not where, but who you're with that really matters" -- "Best of What's Around" - Dave Matthews Band
The Jack/Daniel duo soon became a foursome with the introduction of Sam and Teal'c in the pilot episode, and it's refreshing to see that each relationship is played differently: Sam relates to Daniel differently to the way she relates to Jack, Teal'c's relationship with Sam is different to his relationship with Daniel etc. But always, they are a team that is absolutely greater than the sum of its parts, and over time this team has become more than a group of work-mates, it has become a family. Just like any family they have their squabbles, but, at the end of the day, their deep friendship can survive any disagreement and they meet each challenge with a one-for-all-and-all-for-one sensibility. The unspoken understanding between the team seems to be that when somebody messes with one member of SG-1, he messes with all four. What's great, also, is that the on-screen chemistry between the four leads: Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge, is clearly a reflection of their off-screen chemistry - with the latter three being fondly known around the set as "The Three Amigos"
